Over the last week or so I've deprimed and tumbled close to a thousand cases (combined) of .380, 9 mm, and .40 S&W brass. The little tumbler has been running a LOT! I just replenished the Armorall Wash and Wax, but when I tried to buy more "Lemishine Original," powder, I was looking for this:

but all I could find was this:

It's also powder, and appears to be the same stuff. Have you guys all used up all of the "Original," and this is the replacement?

The main ingredient is still citric acid, so I assume it's the same stuff in different packaging? I've also heard that buying citric acid in the canning section of Wallyworld works just as well. Anyone have any experience with that?

Happy New Year to all!
Harold

All I use is the citric acid from the canning section of Walmart. Works perfectly, I use a heavy squirt of armor all wash and wax and a shake of citric acid, no pins, and my brass comes out looking like new after about 30 mins tumbling.

Citric Acid Hemihydrate (whatever that means) but citric acid dissolves faster. For wet tumbling purposes, a cheap quart of lemon juice works nearly as well.

Get you 5lbs of Citric Acid for $15

Or 2 lbs for $9

if you must have that lemony smell, add a drop of lemon essential oil

Why is it that most "lemon cleaners" contain "real lemons," and most lemon-flavored food contains "artificial flavoring"? scratchhead.gif

I did buy a container of the replacement, and also a container of citric acid from the canning section. Haven't used either yet because I still have a little left in the original container. I've been cleaning LOTS of brass this past week, and it's all been beautiful!

Looking great! Here's some of the 40 S&W that I tumbled last week. Tumbled for 2 hrs w/ SS pins, then a blast of compressed air through each primer pocket, and let sit overnight to air dry.

Just started the new ArmorAll and tried the new replacement Lemishine. I'm happy!

I get just as big a kick out of making old dirty brass bright and shiny, as I do going to the range and "de-loading" them!
