While I saw Flags of Our Fathers when it came out, just never got around to Letters From Iwo Jima, a sister movie to the previously mentioned film by Clint Eastwood.
The other day one of the movie channels had both on, I recorded both, and just now finished both.
I liked Flags, honestly, I liked the story of Ira Hayes in it the most.
But, overall, I enjoyed Letters more.
Maybe it's the view of things that we just dont see here. They were the baddies, they attacked us. but, like in many wars, many soldiers did not want to be. It was interesting to see their point of view, their struggles.
Just a good movie, in my opinion.
Both are good, but this one I enjoyed more.
