Of course not. They, even the females, have bigger cajones, and certainly thicker skin, than I do when it comes to armed flying devils from the deepest depth of Hades.:D

We have them in our yard too. They're so used to people that if you go into the back yard they'll turn broadside to and stare at you at a distance you could get a head shot with a pistol. My wife says they're part of our food preps.
 
Just remember once the wife or kid names them it's hard to explain where what's its name is along with where this good meat came from. Now as to raising deer ... leave a decent sized area in the back kinda deer beddown friendly, marigolds and such planted around stuff you what to keep them out of and come fall tenderloin for Thanksgiving ;)

We've lived here for twelve years and have always had deer. There's a high voltage Duke transmission line easement directly behind where those deer are standing. Unfortunately, we get a bunch of Coyotes come through as well.
