Long Range Steel Match at Hawks Ridge

It’s grown immensely and evolved, so that now there will be 5 three minute stages. Maximum total rounds will be 70, and minimum will be 38. No stage will be more than 15 rounds.

I doubt there will be a Milkjug challenge at the end. The logistics of everything else may have eliminated that.

If anyone wants to PM me their email, I will send them the info package for the match.

Is that 70 including makeups? Or are you only allotted a certain amount of misses?

I'm not going to have time to work up a load so I'm trying to buy enough factory stuff to at least have the option to come if it works out.

If you miss everything, your round count will be 70 rounds. Plus there will be an opportunity to check 100 yd zero if you want.
Send me your email, the info package has a sample scorecard in it.

wilkesboro/north wilkesboro... depending on how nice... there is a hamption inn.... im guessing around $85-100 ??

You’d be surprised. Depending on the exact bullet, an ES of 63 fps is about 14” difference at 1000yds. With an SD of 17fps, 68% of your shots will be +/- 4.5” and 95% of your shots will be +/- 9”.

That would keep you on target at the furthest distances at Hawks Ridge, and would definitely get it done at anything closer.

But, if the Indian doesn’t have faith in the bow, he usually doesn’t shoot well.

The only ammo I have ran over a chrono and got good data for had a 17 SD and 63 ES. Don't think that would be worth bringing for that distance.

Not much science is this W.A.G. but I’d bet over 25 and under 50.
Nice is there a age limit? My son wants to come and watch is why I’m asking heck I would put him up against most shooters out to 500 yards but it will be a couple more years before he is ready to compete.

No. Shooters absolutely must be able to safely handle their rifle.
