Finished up this morning. Was a long road but didn't rush and had fun.
wives always think it will be easy....magically turn into
It is really beautiful in person. It is knotty pine planks that I whitewashed. I just really love it and everyone who goes in there comes out raving about it.I especially like that ceiling
Yep, been there 20 years and my wife uses it too in the winter. She calls it the little sun.Is that a heat lamp? Do they still make those?
It is just a 50/50 mix of flat ceiling white and water. Brush on, let sit a couple minutes and wipe with damp rag. T-shirt material is best and wiping is the "art" of the whole process. Sparingly and in certain places to exploit knots and grain. Really no wrong way.@Lawless what whitewash method did you use. It turned out amazing. I'd like it give it a shot.
The details are the fun part, not crawling around replacing floor joistsI find it a real challenge to stick with remodeling all the way through the finish details that you have clearly mastered
Yeah, those products used to be called DeckScape and WoodScape. We use Super Deck all the time, it took the place of Deck Scape a while back. In Solid or Semi-solid water clean up products it is unmatched.I used their outdoor acrylic latex on wood siding and have been really impressed with how it went on and has held up.

I am the one who picks colors for paint, drapes, bed duvet covers and the like around here. My wife will tell you that I am way better than she at the decorative shiz. Its all in the combination....just like with cars, which I spent 20 odd years Fn with.you seem to have a great eye for design
I always say "whatever you think it will cost, double it and you'll be close"at three times the budget.
