Looking for a good vacuum sealer. Done with Foodsaver

If the pump works but it never gets the last bit of air out the rubber seal is dry. Either replace the seal or rub some veggie oil on it before using.

We have extended the life of ours by 10+ years this way. It also forces the conscious cleaning of the unit. Something my wife was not doing enough.

Thanks for the tip.

I have a hand me down foodsaver that is still doing the job just fine. But I'll be looking at this, if it starts to give me issues.

My food saver is over 10 years old maybe 15.
Still running strong. I clean and wipe down the seal and it keeps working. You can add a little of EVOO or some food grade silicone and it will keep it soft and seal.

I have a 10 year old or so Foodsaver. Still good but have replaced the gasket once. Bought a new for the cabin and it doesn’t seem to work as well. If you have the budget one of the more expensive ones above may be worth it.

Following,

the ones you guys have that are 10-15 years old still running, hold on to them. The new ones are trash.

We have a Weston 2300, so far no complaints. Had a food saver but the duty cycle sucked and it wouldn’t keep up when we had bulk goods to freeze.

Now that you mention it, that really is my only complaint.

When packaging up 20 to 30lbs or more of bulk sausage, we usually have to give it a minute or two to catch up.

The Weston 2300 is on sale today and tomorrow on Amazon for 315, down from 450. Just ordered mine 😁

Amazon Prime has a commercial grade on sale today. No link as there are too many pages for me to go back and find.

This is the one @Lil D got

Deal of the day for Prime Members: Weston Brands Vacuum Sealer Machine for Food Preservation & Sous Vide, Extra-Wide Bar, Sealing Bags up to 16", 935 Watts, Commercial Grade Pro 2300 Stainless Steel https://a.co/d/jfFtUMI

Have a cheap one we bought from Aldi years ago. Keep the seal good and buy good bags from Amazon in bulk. We have got vacsealed beans in the freezer that are garden-fresh tasting after 3 years.

Vac master 215 is what I have love it. will Vac and seal a bag of water. Buy once cry once.
