Well we made an offer on a piece of crap house on some lovely acreage, so any positive vibes towards the house passing mortgage inspection would be welcome.

I'm hoping the guy is squeamish enough he takes one look and just ticks everything so he doesn't have to linger in there too long, since we're planning to clean the place out and "camp" there while we look for a nice sized repo doublewide.

Yeah, this thin walled apartment stacked next to screaming brats is fraying all our nerves here.

We're all choosing a less comfortable place and a mess of sweat equity in the short term as a stepping stone to real room to be comfortable.

We Still need to go shoot some. I believe you are working with my oldest boy now. He is up front skinny blonde, hair too long, all he does is talk about trucks, but he can shoot.

I'm not one to want a huge, dirty project which just getting this place sanitary and liveable is going to be..... But the land is bloody gorgeous. Rife with deer sign and apparently there's bears that come by now and then. Plenty already cleared for living room and still 8 or so acres wild and woodsy.

That's half the guys there lol. I feel like the Grandpa of the place, I'm surrounded by kids half or less my age, but the work is honest and the pay is making stuff like this possible.

And once we're settled and I've got stuff sorted, I am probably going to prep a feast and invite folks to a range building, shooting and camping thing one weekend. It's been far, far too long since I've been around gun folks much at all.

I have a decent little home, sitting on an acre lot in a neighborhood just outside the city limits. It's home, but hindsight suggests I should have been a little less quick to choose where to live.

I think I would prefer even less house, but more acreage and further from town, but this little place is paid for and I don't know that I want to get into a position that would keep me at my job longer than I want.

Bump my hip again his pinball universe, hoping this slides in your direction!!!

I’m on about 3 acres and an aging double wide that’s all paid for. Hoping for 10-25 in a similar set up that you describe in the next 5-7.

Heck, maybe one day I’ll grow up and be like @Downeast!!

Put on some masks (filter out mold spores, not the antifa sort) and go make a change.
Take before and after pics, please.
Clean clean clean + small repairs, you'll, possibly, be in love with the place in no time.

How large is the home? Big enough for your needs?

Oh yeah, we're going hazmat for this one lol

It's just big enough, but old and suboptimal in layout, so we're planning on replacing it with a repo in a bit. We just need it to last a couple more years while we pay down the land.

But yeah there's repairs to do, but we're not planning on sinking too much into it because before long we hope to see it hauled off.

Well everything has been completely submitted to the various folks and now we're waiting on them to send their appraiser and if he comes down appropriately actually issue the paperwork for the loan.

The tension is killing us lol
