So I have been eyeing a sig mk25 for years. I’ve shot a similar model as a rental at a range and loved it! My only reservation is the cost. Are Sigs (P series) worth it? ( fit, finish, durability and extra points for those who have had experience with Sig Customer Service since this would be a life time piece). Thanks

I picked up a P226 before COVID when prices bottomed out around $550 for new. I don't think I'd spend more than that now that I have some time behind the pistol.

It's accurate as hell, but other than that nothing too special unless you just love the old P22x series. The ergos don't work for my thumbs forward grip all that well. Fit and finish is fine, maybe better than most. They are enormous for what they are, though they do convey a sense of taking all the abuse with ease.

I'm going to keep it because it is a nice piece that I got at a good price. I would never drop double what I paid for an anchor on the side of the slide and some coated internals.

This is actually the second P226 I've had. I bought one and found some cosmetic defects after receiving it. I called Sig and after a little back and forth they had me send it in. They sent me a slightly upgraded model a few weeks later so no complaints with their CS.

The heart wants what it wants. Go for it!

Does the MK25 have the SRT trigger? Cuz you will definitely want the SRT trigger.
Unless they've changed, I think the MK25 series has the corrosion resistant finish, the anchor, and the rail is a true 1913 and that's the difference with a regular P226.
No SRT.

If you want it, and have always wanted it, then it's probably worth it to you.

I'd buy a Shadow 2 for that kind of coin. Just my opinion of course.
I really wanted to like CZs. They are built well, handle great and most importantly look great. But, the small amount of exposed slide to grasp is their only flaw. (IMHO)

P series guns are nice. I have several and I like them. I don't carry them much anymore. But since I was young and poor I always lusted after the all-metal Sigs on magazine covers. When I came of age and could afford them... I bought them. My first was a P220 cause back then I was a .45 fanboy. The rest are 9mm. I say get it if you want it.

I like them; but then, I like the 'P' series. They were all the bees' knees when the SEALs carried them, seemed to drop off in popularity when NSW went to Glocks.

I too wanted, and now own, a number of metal Sigs and have been very happy with 220s and 229s. Had a few smaller but my hand was too big. very happy with them. I like my CZ too!

As @Variable said, get it if you like it. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I too wanted an MK25, and ended up buying a Tac-Ops w threaded barrel and SRT. It shoots great, trigger is very nice, easy to shoot accurately, great suppressed, but I don’t shoot it very often. It was one of those guns I just wanted in the safe and am more interested in shooting others. It’s also the only metal framed 9mm I have.

While I was shopping 2-3 years ago, Legions were everywhere but I didn’t care for the markup for the Legion branding. I came across a great deal on a used Tac Ops package so it made it a no brainer.

Get whichever version you want. I saw trade-ins at AIM recently for $599. No idea what current prices are otherwise.

I have a P229 and it is a great pistol! I wouldn’t part with it. It is truly my goto house pistol. If you do get a MK25, hit me up when the UID sticker falls off.

I got an FDE Mk25D about seven years ago, first owner put the SRT in it and it's a keeper. The greatest thing though was with the stock OEM set up was that it LOVES Winchester white box, I mean it clover leafs the stuff at 15 yards and closer.
Believe me, you'll never regret buying a Mk25

That seems to being the growing consensus, the heart wants what the heart wants. Being on the youngish and broke side of the spectrum, I would need to liquidate some of my current collection to fund it.

Bub, that happens no matter what age you are.....

I traded my bil a glock 23 for his 226 factory two tone and it made me think i became an expert shooter overnight.

Foolishly, i got bored with it making things so easy and lost interest. Traded it back to him.

When i eventually came to my senses and tried to get it back and his response was- "fool me once." I can't speak for them all but the gun just worked for me. In my top 3 best shooters i ever had. Dang i miss that thing.

And if you're really a 226 nut, the 229 is also a must have. The Classic Carry model I picked up came factory standard with the SRT, and 226 magazines fit, and function just like they were in a 226.

It's funny how people either love or hate the feel of the steel frame sigs. I'm not a sig person but there's not a better fitting centerfire handgun out there and they shoot great too--as long as you don't buy a police model. Also a great looking gun. Just do it before they get even more expensive

Thanks for the input from everyone. Looks like my Beretta and Glocks will be facing the chopping block. Did anyone else love watching Hawaii 5.0?

Easy come, easier go. We have all made that mistake.

@AmericaFirst I have been horsing around with the Sig P series for the last. twenty years and have always been pleased with fit, finish and quality. All of them can out shoot my abilities. I currently own several Legion, 320 and X Series. They are super reliable and, as mentioned earlier, the SRT trigger is a handy thing. If you have any question about the durability of the platform, I would put that aside and get it. You will be very pleased.

I’ve had great experiences with Sig Customer Service. I’ve got an M-11a1 that I bought used. The thing wouldn’t cycle to sav my azz! Had it to a coup good gunsmiths and they couldn’t get it to do any better. I called Sig ( what I should have done in the first place!) and they said send it back. I paid shipping but the basically rebuilt it! It shoots like a dream now! I’ve got a short ton of Sigs and the all run well. My newest is an M-17 and I like it.
