M1 Garand value?

Hey guys. My mom has a M1 Garand that she is considering selling to get an AR -15. Any idea on the value of those? I’m going to get pics of it this week to post. It’s complete and in good shape.

$500 to $5,000 depending on condition. Good pictures will help people come up with a rough value but the best thing is having someone knowledgable look it over in person.

If it were my Mom, I'd tell her to keep it. ARs are generally fairly cheap. A Garand won't lose value.

Take pics and NOT just one generic wide shot

I have several AR-15's that I would trade for another M1 Garand. Maybe trade 2 if it's a Winchester or IH.

Build a solid $400 AR and hold the garand. Chances are high its the equivalent of a cmp field grade/sub1k value but still a hard to find gun
