Here's some of mine. I need to take some pics of the modification to my Camp10 and Camp18 sheathes. A kydex maker friend of mine made me snap locks for the blades, I got to dump the flimsy straps.

Here's the mod, done for me by my buddy Dan at Force Recon Surplus in Wake Forest. He did both my 10 and 18 the same. Ignore the cruddy pic, it made it look filthy for some reason. The kydex wings are front and back and do a wonderful job of retaining the blade, you just tug and out it comes but you can invert it and it stays put.

I have a machete that my father brought back from the US operation in the Dominican Republic in the early 60s. Story was, used by a bad guy, until my father (a Marine) shot him. Who knows how old that thing is.

And who knows what it looks like because there's no pic. :p

I have machete envy now and I didn't even know that was a thing! :(

LOL....as soon as I can figure out how to correctly size a pic on here, I will post it.

Size it on your PC, upload it and complete the post. Go back in and edit the post and a magical menu of pic size insertion options will appear.

I've been curious about the ergonomics of the handle on the Kershaw 18. For those who have used them (not just finger banged them), how are they?

The first one isn't truly a Brasilian blade or it's made for export only. Just FYI or it would be spelled with an 's' and not a 'z'.

They are made in Brazil for export to English speaking countries hince the English spelling of Brazil. Imacasa's are made in El Salvador and Imacasa is the parent company of Condor Tool and Knife.

I generally like the grip profile/angle. If you are more accustomed to a straight handle it may take a bit of getting used too. Its likely less fatiguing to use for most users but everybody is different, some will like it some will not.

I was wondering if it causes any weird chafing because of that.

I have not gotten any hot spots while using it.

I haven't used mine for anything heavy, it's mostly for giggles. I did turn some of nature's grandeur into firewood with it and I had zero issues even with the aggressive texturing.

These are in the modification "on deck circle" [IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","src":"http:\/\/i6.photobucket.com\/albums\/y217\/jimcope\/Machetes\/23850444-db68-40bb-8d45-0c93344c7af9.jpg"}[/IMG2]

Mods to these blades are fun and relatively easy. Cut the blade to the profile you want. Sand and stain the handles and rework the edge geometry and sharpen and you have a great tool/weapon. And if you fuck one up you have not lost much as far as an investment. Lots of fun for a weekend project.
