This bad boy was announced a while back and I've been anxiously waiting; the only real weak point on my 556 ranch has been the flimsy stock:

Does it take standard AR mags as well, to work with the Grendel Ruger?
 
What's the difference between the other version for Ar-15 style mags and Stanag?

Of course, I have no idea what Stanag means

Interesting! I have an older .300 blk out Ranch with the rotary mags. I’ve contacted Ruger about getting a stock that accepts magazines. I was told their stocks would not work because the bolts on the older rifles were not compatible. Wonder if it will compatible with the Magpul?
 
Bumping because I’ve had one on back order for over a year and wondering if anyone has info. Last time I checked in w magpul was around July 2022 and was told no ETA.
 
762x39 caliber is no bueno.
That's odd since they feed from AR pattern mags.

I really want a Rooga American compact in 308.

No update on my backorder either.
 
Yes the AI version looks nice. There are many options for aftermarket stocks and chassis for the american AI. It’s the STANAG version that’s been “coming soon” and backorderable for a few years now. If magpul had a legit ETA I would acquire a Ruger American in 6.5 grendel with plans for the STANAG compatible stock.
