Maintenance charger

Momma simply does not drive her car enough to keep the battery charged. It's a new battery. I try to tell her, but it's hard raising a parent these days.

Can you plug a Maintainer into the cigarette lighter? She doesn't want to raise the hood. I'm thinking plug it in there and she can unplug it when she starts the car.

And what about a solar charger Into the cigarette plug. Then there's no cord.

Grab a battery tender and you can hide the plug in the bumper or grill. Plug it in as needed. Connect it directly to the battery.

This. We keep one on the gas golf cart in the winter. Works like a charm

I've seen these before but have not used one. looks like they get good reviews. I use a trickle charger on my mower and Jeep but you have to unplug those before using.

I put one on my sisters van that she rarely drives. It's a NoCo brand and after attaching the ring terminals to the battery, I ran the other end out the front of the grill and she can plug in the trickle charger without raising the hood.

Can you plug a Maintainer into the cigarette lighter?

Most new cars the cigarette lighter isn’t powered when the key is off. In this case it won't work.

Like the suggestions: Best to have a connector in the grill that is right to the battery.

NOTE: Make sure the hot side can't short to ground. Put a 5a fuse on the positive lead as a precaution.

I have had great service out of the NoCo stuff. They make one that is designed to be mounted under the hood. It has velcro strap and screw holes for various mounting configurations.

Thought about that, but hadn't checked it yet. I really think I knew the plug in type was the way to go, just wanted someone else to say it, I guess.

I've got a couple of the NOCO's and they do work well. Waiting for the jump box thing that was mentioned before to go on sale again, I missed it last time.
