Man accidentally shot, killed by 2-year-old son, grandma says

It may be possible for a 2 year old to pull the trigger once and with a lot of luck to hit someone BUT to hold onto a fired gun (the shock and sound for a 2 year old means drop it and run), then also hold on after the recoil (that firearm is going to jump and a 2 year old ain’t got any clue about gripping a firearm) and fire a other round also hitting him (means the kid is still pointing the firearm in pretty much the same for a follow up) … not buying it. Grandma is covering for someone.

This is what forensics are for.

I'll readily agree with you that what we get from the media is rarely, if ever, anything close to the full story.

Just as a minor point of discussion…a child that’s one day away from turning 3, is still a 2-year-old. There’s a pretty big difference in what a kid could do on their 2nd birthday and what one could do the day before their 3rd. We don’t know exactly how old this one is…and I definitely agree something ain’t right.

Right, on all points.

Another example of a child with physical traits beyond what most people think of is the oldest son of a friend of mine. "Bill" and his first wife were both well over 6 feet tall. Bill at 6' 9", his first wife 6' 4". Their firstborn son was so big for his age at 2 that people thought he was retarded. He easily looked like he could have easily passed for a 5 year old, yet his speech and physical coordination was that of a 2 year old. There was absolutely no issues with him, though, as his development was otherwise consistent with that of 2 year old children...he was just physically well beyond that of other children his age in size.

2 year old could easily pull, say, a CZ Rami out of a leather holster and pull trigger without even picking up gun. And then bump fire it after it resets. Or a Sig 238 etc.

Far stranger things have happened. Not likely, but people die all day every day in strange accidents.

I got my first fly rod for my third birthday and could cast it. I am looking at it right now on the wall. It is a 9 foot split bamboo with two tips. Children can often do more than we imagine they can. I still think there is something fishy about the story. Lots of questions need to be answered that the "reporter" did not.PXL_20210810_113537223.jpg

With no access to records I dare state there are many instances of two year olds discharging handguns. That and unless the news reporter is lying, a police report should show the child as the shooter. Hard for a two year old to lie in such circumstances.

That's what I said.

I didn't say that.

Umm, my reply in #17 was not directed specifically at nor quoted yours, it merely followed your #16. So I never claimed that you said anything. The quote of "more to the story" was general to several earlier replies and wasn't intended to be sarcastic ... I was only suggesting plausible scenarios that a 2-year-old could have the requisite hand/finger strength under some circumstances to discharge a firearm.

You mean it's Not All About ME!?....Now I'm Hurt... 👍 ;)🙋‍♀️

Once I had a baby boy every semi moved to condition 3. I am certain that a 2 year old cannot pull the slide back and chamber the first round. So if through some chance I forgot to put something out of reach there isn't one in the chamber.

not the first time he got shot.
Yet we are told to believe this was the first time the man ever owned a gun.

re: 2yo pulling the trigger. a 2yo could pull the trigger on my FNX45 if the hammer was cocked. My son at 2 might have been able to pull a typical striker fired trigger. But then he was 38 inches tall then. When he was 9 months people thought he was 18 months old.

Another 2 year old shoots his dad:

Police sources said the father and his two sons, 7 and 2, were in an upstairs bedroom. There apparently was a gun on the bed and the 2-year-old allegedly started jumping on the bed, causing the gun to fire once.
