Man Sets Self on Fire in Front of Trump Courthouse Live on CNN

Jeez this thread took a weird turn đŸ˜³
There’re some dark undercurrents these days. Darker than I grew up with, anyway.

Somebody at CNN will rip the producer for standing behind the reporter looking like a low-IQ gawker and then the producer will rip the camera operator for getting him in the shot and leaving him there to look stupid.

I am surprised the camera operator didn't go for the flaming-death shot of the guy writhing in the flames.

Another one? I should feel some compassion for a lost soul, but I'm having a little trouble summoning any. at all.

second time i've had this name come up today.
never even heard of him before as far as i can tell.
last weekend i started looking up the apocrypha for no apparent reason, and now this.

The movie NEFARIOUS slips in an interesting bit about how there were beings of spirit that existed before God was revealed to them as the maker of things. And that humans were made to worship because the opposition beings rebelled. I assume, based on how dead on that movie was for stuff, that wasn't something they made up for the film. I need to look into the references they used in writing that script.

growing up, when i asked about things that i didn't understand, she didn't understand, or generally aren't understood, my mom would sometimes say "In the beginning, God created the HEAVENS and the earth" as a way of reminding me that we aren't given all the information that's out there.

Also mentioned in NEFARIOUS. There isn't an altar anymore, and the priests who do the sacrificing wear surgical scrubs now. But the child is still incinerated, and the angels weep while all of hell rejoices.
The guy that wrote Nefarious also followed Michael Heiser. He put out out a Bible study companion...I think it's called "A Nefarious Bible study", if memory serves me. In it he uses exact terminology that Heiser used in his study. FYI.
Nefarious was a great movie.
Steve Deace is the author of A Nefarious Plot...the book Nefarious was made from. The book is more comprehensive than the movie.
