You're wrong.
And you suck.
You're wrong.
And you suck.
I don't argue. I calmly explain to you why you are wrong and I am right.
You're wrong.
And you suck.

In addition to what @Alabamacoastie said, keep in mind that something like 90% of communication is non verbal and when you are writing, especially in an informal format, a good percentage of that communication is missing. Consequently, it is easy to read into a statement, read into it a tone or meaning that wasn't present.
In other words, what may be taken as rude may not have been meant in that fashion.
Internet anonymity often brings out the worst in people. Just like road rage. We feel safe and protected in our cars and often make rude gestures/yell/name call/etc. The internet does the same thing to us because we have hidden our true names behind fictional usernames and avatars. And we feel safe to say whatever we want while sitting in front of a PC, huddled in our parents' warm humid basement surrounded by old mountain dew bottles filled with room temperature pee.

It hasn't changed. There are a few renown repeaters send HF frequencies that still carry on like that. The informal FCC opinion is that it's better to give them a hangout, as long as they keep it there, so everyone else can ignore it.We saw this kind of behavior back in the 70s, during the heyday of CB radios.
Just because I live with my mom doesn't mean I stay in the basement and what I do with my pee is none of your damn business. You should kill yourself you know nothing with a tiny penis.Internet anonymity often brings out the worst in people. Just like road rage. "Give a man a mask and he will show you his true face".
For those who say that their online persona isn't what they are really like I submit that it's what they would be like in person if they had any real power.
I argue but rarely hold a grudge.
