March 2024 22LR 50yd Rimfire Challenge

I gave it a shot. I couldn’t find my rear bag so I used my jacket for the first one. Turned out I put my rear bag with my gfs gear so I was able to try again this time while prone. I got a 79 and then a 121.

This was my first time ever shooting out doors (I only got into shooting in January) and I loved it. There’s so much more I want to learn and do (and shoot).

Details:
RIA TM22 20”
Bushnell Match Pro
Aguila Super Extra

My match ammo didn’t show up in time so I was stuck with bulk ammo but Im pretty happy with my results. Although I really do need to work on my shooting position and adjust my scope to match. It’s not very comfortable right now.

Very good shooting. You were only supposed to shoot 20 though. I went through your 121 target and I actually scored it as a 132. U were able to take 1 mulligan which would save you 5 point on one of your misses and some of your scoring was a tad low cause you broke some lines. Either way good job and glad you shot and posted.

ATTENTION SHOOTERS! We are working on changing things up a little for April (and hopefully beyond) to try and even things up a little and make sure that everyone has a solid chance to do well (and win!) no matter what rifle/scope/ammo you are using. This is all for fun but understand it’s hard to shoot a 50 on a target when guys with precision rigs are posting double that.
Stay tuned as more will be revealed as we get closer to April.

Welp. I never was very good at reading comprehension.

I’m definitely going to keep this up. I really like precision shooting although I have a lot to learn. And buy. This isn’t a cheap hobby.

Good job, glad you tried it out. That Match Pro is a nice scope.
I’m very happy with it. I’m glad I went with a cheaper rifle rather than getting a more expensive rifle and a cheaper scope. Although I really need to buy a throw lever.

Two days left with what looks like some incredible (if not windy) weather to jump over our April Leaders.

Remember that Amps picked the target last month and is not eligible to pick Aprils so have a Target in mind.

To windy to shoot so I did some work on my new rifle rest. Oiled the threads and replaced the thrust bearing. I bought this one used and saved some money. https://targetshooting.com/ This one is LP2000 model. They make a nice heavy duty rest with lots of adjustablility. You can adjust to about any rifle configuration. 20240330_111533.jpg

Good score. They are not easy to find used.

I was torn between that and a nice Seb Mini with joy stick. Money was about the same. While I was trying to make up my mind, someone else bought the Seb! So the decision was made for me. LOL! :) I feel like I will end up with another two piece down the road but I scored this one while I had the chance. I urge anyone who is interested in buying a new rest to check out the website https://targetshooting.com/

I was looking for something like @Got2hav1 grabbed up but couldn’t find anything like that and didn’t know about that website and wasn’t ready to spend $2k on a new Godzilla rest or one like it.
Ended up with a shade tree rest which replaces the top of my Caldwell rest. Has the joystick and the price was $450 I believe. I have been happy with it so far.

Sounds fine to me and it’s your choice at the moment but we will see if we have any late entries after such a nice day.
