After CDC Director Rochelle Walensky announced in August that gun violence was a "public health threat," that agency has now implemented a new plan to study it.

"I swore to the President and to this country that I would protect your health. This is clearly one of those moments, one of those issues that is harming America's health," Walensky said.

Once the data is gathered, it will be parsed by the CDC to determine what actions they should take to tackle that violence.

"Something has to be done about this," said Walensky in August. "Now is the time — it's pedal to the metal time."


They’d be better off studying history, before they go off half-cocked with all sorts of “ideas” to combat this…and we all know what those ideas will inevitably be. It might give them a bit of insight as to what can happen when you attempt to separate free people from their liberty…

Then again, it’d probably make no difference to them at all. Totalitarianism is the goal and ain’t nothing gonna stand in the way.

Guess some folks just have to learn the hard way.

I would hope that the director of the CDC would know that data are rather than data is. A datum is. I know, picky picky picky. Very true. Such people need to pay close attention to details.
 
In their mind the plan is working….The coronavirus will come and go but the government will never forget how easy it was to take control of our entire lives. Control of every roadway, airline, sporting event, classroom, restaurant, church pew, grocery store and even a park bench…The sad part is that society praised government actions as “the right thing to do”.
 
Cool thing is we can stand up and fight this. Many on our side have the knowledge and the ability.

We must take control, if not we leave our kids and grandkids with a huge mess. We no longer can selfishly abstain from the confrontation, it’s no longer about us but all for them.

I've been accused of a lot of things, and even being a goodie-goodie* from time to time. But I don't think i've ever been accused of being obedient.

*wifey accuses me of such things... but she's had to post bail for me...
 
The last time the CDC did this it drove Kleck to initiate his National Self Defense study. And not only is that stuff easier to do now. There are likely more willing to do it. And the easy access to the public of any information CDC accumulates will be vetted by anyone and everyone with an interest in it.

I'm not sure amusing is the right word, but it is amusing to watch these fools act like it's 20 years ago with their half truths and lies and then get that surprised look when it gets exposed online for the world to see. Whether that makes the difference is should has yet to be seen. But look at some of the Russia Gate and Hunter Biden stuff starting to collapse.

You're right, but perhaps one reason these are "collapsing" is that there is no longer a reason to shore them up.

We live in Short Term Thinking times. Narratives are deployed to make progress toward a goal, hyped mercilessly whether they have the intended effect or not*, then dropped and ignored once the mission has moved on.

The opposition is further dissipated by chasing after a gotcha! long after it has become irrelevant.

I don't know. If they gather statistics on race related violence, people could legitimately point out that trying to control one weapon used in some of that violence would impact one particular race more heavily than others. That would make gun control racist. If they ever thought to examine some history they would realize that gun control has its roots in racism.


edit: They are trying to reduce racism by promoting a racist agenda. That is like telling someone to turn up the volume on a radio because it is too loud. Liberals have no shame and think, evidently rightly so, that enough people are so dumb that they will believe anything they are told.

You're not wrong. But it's also a dangerous game. It was highly effective, 20 years ago. I think we are starting to see these things fall apart within the thinking period of some folks. Which will start waking some up. And those newly woke (to the corruption) folks have a better possibility of waking others since they carry less of the "conservative baggage". And that period will get shorter based on how tech is being used. And desperation might drive it even shorter. Which more people will notice.

Maybe I'm too hopeful. But you can't hide and lie your way into oblivion anymore. To much information out there. Too easy to find if you want to look. They can hide it from those content to stare at the curtain. But they can't hide if from those willing to look behind the curtain. They are carrying out a lie based on an irrelevant 20 year old tech ideas of how things work. We are catching on, and fast. And those that have been lied to the most, will be pissed. I know I am.

A lot of people still believe in the system. A system where parties are political but the news is fair and balanced. Where bureaucrats are looking out for the country. We know that's a lie. But they are blindly living in the system they grew up with. And don't yet understand that the system has changed. But I think the marxist left is so overplaying and relying on this old system that they are loosing the people that are starting to see the system itself has changed. The organizations they trusted have changed, and in all honesty were not that trustworthy to begin with. But they are openly worse now. And people are starting to see it. And it's easier to find. Similar to above, old tech thinking in a new tech world has these dinosaurs in DC scrambling more desperately for the control that used to come easily. The emperor has no clothes, he just doesn't understand that we see that yet.

I know millennials get a bad rap, and some deserve it. But the generation after them, my kids age, are very different. Some of them are seeing through the BS at a young age.

I sincerely hope you are right! However, I'm still skeptical, if for no other reason than that, yep! the lies keep getting exposed... and nothing ever comes of it. Time and time again, in the much more recent past than 2 decades ago, the duplicity, deceit, manipulation, corruption, and crimes keep coming to light, but the perpetrators and their pet media simply deny what millions can actually see.
