I am reloading 300BLK with Lil'Gun and 220gr Hornady Interlock RN. The Hogdon reloading data only shows one load for 220gr w/Lil'Gun, a max load of 8.4gr to deliver 1062 fps. My velocities are lower, and I think it's because the fat RN profile bullet I'm using engages more rifling than a typical spire point type FMJ .308 bullet so there is more drag (and therefore more pressure).
My question is, is this the listed max load because considering the cartridge and bullet weight they are trying to keep it subsonic, or is this the max load because higher charges would exceed pressure specs? I'd like to bump up the charge a little but obviously that would be a bad idea if it's the later case. Take baby steps and watch for pressure signs? Nothing so far.
BTW this is for a bolt gun.
