Cousin Jerry, @Etruett and I will be meeting a few others on Wednesday morning around 11 AM. If any of you in the area are free come on by and visit with us. We'll be buying, selling and trading handguns. If you have never been to Mid South you are missing a "wonder" of the gun world. If you have been you know how great it is. Come on by and say "howdy". See you tomorrow!!!!

@Jeppo, looks like you did OK. But, poor @BatteryOaksBilly on the other hand, he got an old gun that's scratched all to pieces, a foreign made something or other but, he did get an old revolver with plastic grips. Phil saw him coming.

Looking over his shoulder, as he inspected the gun, I asked...

“Waddya think about red crayon?” :D

Tell us about the engraved Colt!

Tell us about the engraved Colt!
It is known as The Sheriff. It was the companion gun to The Indian. They were engraved at Colt by Robert Burt. They had been together for their lifetime until a few years ago. I went to Wagram to buy them both. For some reason Phillip would only sell me The Indian?? I bought it. For years I tried to buy the other gun. After long frustrating tries I sold the gun to a collector in Mississippi.
A few days ago @Etruett brought me word that Phillip was ready to sell The Sheriff. The price was 50% more than I had paid for The Indian. I had sold The Indian for a 100% profit. I quickly committed to get The Sheriff.
The Sheriff is a beautiful work of art and anybody would be proud to own it BUT it pales in comparison to the work done on The Indian. The grips are as on The Indian, the Best grade of Pearl available. They have to be seen to be believed @Jeppo ?
I'll have it here for awhile....but I am trying to locate that fella in Mississippi.

The only possible improvement will be a Fitz
I read last night a great deal about the Fitz guns. If you don't have it order today John Taffin's book of the .45. I have all of Taffin's books. If you are interested in Revolvers, he is your man. The .45 book also has great info and wonderful pictures. It even has info on "Bottom Feeders"..There is great deal to be learned by looking over a man's library. If you are interested in Handguns order the Taffin books. They Are NOT cheap. Very few really good things in life are.
