Got a Milwaukee drill/driver for my birthday last Sept. I asked for the specific model. Fairly small with small batteries. I wanted to keep it in my Pilot for screwing stuff together or back together at the range. Tested it out, Charged both batteries up. Put it in my Pilot. A few months later I needed oil change and tire rotation. Took everything out of my Pilot. Left drill/driver in doctors bag it came with in my garage. Finally got around to putting everything back in my Pilot after Xmas. Checked drill to see if I needed to charge batteries. Drill didnt work. Batteries supposedly charged.
You have to use Milwaukee online app to generate warranty repair ticket and shipper. Sent just the drill back to their service depot in Greenwood, MS. About a week later got "A" drill driver back. Not the one I sent them and not a new one. You can look up S/N on their website and the one they sent back was 5 yrs old and out of warranty. I called the CS line and told her this situation was unacceptable. She sent me a shipper to send it somewhere else. I also told her one of my original batteries showed green in charger but did not work in the 5 yr old drill they sent me. She said fill out warranty claim on line and send it back. So I did.
Today I got a new drill and a new battery via Fedex. Pretty happy about the final outcome but not happy about having to go thru the BS and run up to the Fedex copy center, twice. If I hadnt, the boxes with their broken crap in it would still be sitting on my porch. Of course all these wonderful power tools are now made in China. I have another Milwaukee drill that has been trouble free but before that I had one of their chargers go bad and their local repair depot/dealer tried to stick it to me on that by telling me it was out of warranty. It wasnt. They just wanted to see if I would buy a new one from them. Bastards. Im probably done with Milwaukee forever now. Most contractors I see are using Dewalt power tools now.
