Some bad weather moving through ET & WNC. Hope they don’t have washouts like they did on the Cherohala Skyway last year.

I was supposed to already be on the road headed up way. Now I'm sipping coffee trying to figure out the best timing.
Yep, to heck with riding through that. Gravel washed out of driveways onto the blacktops...
Standing water, and likely some localized flooding judging from that radar, although it did appear to move through with a quickness.

Yuck. As much as I hate losing a day I think I'll stay dry and head up in the AM.
It's supposed to move through by 1pm or so but it's a total wash out. Crap all over the roads, trees down, power outages, roads closed.
Careful on the blind corners. Surprise road debris awaiting you on the other side is a real possibility.

That system has moved south now, heading east through GA and SC.

A wash out is what got us last year, be careful.

I'll still wait til the morning. Had a nice winding 5 hour route to get there. If I went when it finishes clearing here today it'd just be direct and boring.

Got another toy for the Diavel. It's a ConStand central lift. Both wheels off the ground and you can roll the bike around while it's up there. Now I can pull both wheels off the get the tires changed.

Then I did a little decor work. One of the few mistakes Ducati made on this bike is they neglected to continue that delicious carbon fiber and red paint on to the headlight bucket. Instead, they chose a plane black metal pot. Well, a new carbon fiber headlight surround plus a little vinyl and...

Rode tothe broken spit outside of Siler city for lunch. A little expensive but good food, ample portions and raced the rain back home.

Where is that? Looks like the views off the porches at Big Lyn Lodge.

Good eye, went north-ish out of Concord, up through Brushy Mountain Road, through N Wilkesboro, Sparta, West Jefferson for lunch, then over towards Boone, Spruce Pine and ending at Big Lynn.

Waiting for the sun and coffee to kick in (and hopefully a few degrees warmer). Then headed out for a northerly loop up around Grayson Highlands/Abingdon area.

Welp, I'm back at the track today. Trying out a new org Precision Track Days. Org has been great so far, my Dunlops, not so much. I started on brand new Q4 tires 2 weeks ago. Did 7 sessions, 6 pretty good ones, 1 reflagged after 4 laps, so kinda a bust. Did one session today and the rear is shot. Had to go get a new Pirelli SC3 for the rear. Had a huge slide in the big sweeper, to the point I was thinking about the crash that I thought was coming up.

How people buy these tires every track day is just crazy to me. These things are $450.00 a set, and the front hopefully will make it through the day. Junk. Anyway, went to get the suspension tuned, and believe it or not, I had it perfect. The dude literally didn't touch a clicker. Anyway, hope you guys are riding some today.
Keep that shiny side up.

This is pain that I can absolutely relate. Dunlop made a Supermoto slick that was gold I tell ya, stick like a cat on carpet. They were a real treat, and $450 was a good price. Most often I would run the B-stones and they were $350 a set, but didn't perform anywhere near the Dunnys.
The KTM would get two weekends on a set regardless before the the dimple-dot wear indicators disappeared. A 3rd weekend was possible, but not pleasant. You might wonder how a 240lb bike could eat tires like that, but you've seen the supermoto guys...sideways is the way. We'd keep an eye out for the sporty guys who would sell take-offs like your street Dunlops "$250" and whore them up immediately with no shame. I always said that if I could find someone to buy me tires, just tires I'll pay for everything else, I'd love them long time.

Lol, at this rate, I'll have two rears and a front by next track day. This no joke, I did two sessions on the Pirelli SuperCorsa rear, and it's a SC3 compound, which is a hard compound, and it's VERY close to the wear bars. I could flip it, and maybe get another day, and that's a big maybe. I love this R6, but jeez, at this rate, I may have to go back to the old F4i, lol. I'm waiting on the set of Metzeler TD slicks to get here, and if they don't wear better, I will be going back to the F4i. My tire bill for the R6 will put me in the poor house, haha. We just got home, I'm freakin wore out, and kinda mind blown on the tire deal. So, anyone know of any supermoto guys needing tires, lol.

I had new tires mounted on the Diavel today. Busting loose that big nut that holds on the rear wheel was rough! Electric impact... nope! 4 foot breaker bar... nope! Quick trip to Lowes for a new compressor and a 1000 ft lb air impact wrench... Success! I had to call a few places to find one that had someone who could change the tires on a Saturday. (Also, some of them weren't confident in their ability to change the 240/45-17 rear.) The guys at Lake Norman Cycle came through for me. Now I just have to receive my new shifter linkage and get the bike registered so I can ride her.

Was hoping to bring this one home yesterday but the seller took a deposit on it before I could get there. Buyer has until Wednesday. Perfect except for one dent in tank. My dent guy said he could get it out no problem.

Thats a nice one !!! If the price was ok, I would have jumped on that also.

My buddy had one when we started riding back in the 70s, quick little sucker.
Had a guy leave one with me back in Daytona to correct the jetting after I put a set of chambers on it. Left it with me for about 2 months, It didn't gather dust. I didn't even charge him for the carb work and was sorry to see it go home. The guy that stole my back then Wife from me used to let me ride his RD Liquid cooled he just bought brand new. What a hoot to ride, polish wheelies, great power and an orange glow from the tail pipes from the Cat converters. Little did I know ,but while I was riding his bike causing problems in Downtown Daytona he was riding my Wife. Knowing her, I had more fun then he did.

What got you?
I have no idea. I can't even guess. TPS sensor told me it was low on air. Pretty sure it's a slow leak.

In the past handful of years, I have worn out 1 tire, the rest were all damaged by road debris. I bet it's been a decade since I've had a flat on the car.

Looks like I'm buying tires....sigh...

Ugh-

Those guys at Competitive Cycle in Broadway had good prices on American Elites, as well as very reasonable prices to mount and balance, but I don’t know what they will charge if you have them take the wheels off, too. It’s a little cramped getting on the axle nut with the 4.5” muffler. Stock is 4”.

I have Jims tools for the axle nut and also to hold the left side so you don’t need two people to tighten it all back up on the rear axle, if you want to borrow them. You’ll need a breaker bar. I have that, too. The TQ value for that rear axle nut is like 125 -140 ft lbs or something like that. Basically all I can muster.
