The wife and I watched it this weekend, and it was... different.

The premise of the movie is that there is a dome called "The Shimmer" (which looks like the rainbow swirls on bubbles) that is slowly expanding in the area, and every team of people that has gone in, doesn't come out- until a man who was in the Shimmer for almost a year comes home to his wife (Natalie Portman) and falls ill.

She joins a team of other women (Biologist, Psycologist, Paramedic, and 1 or 2 other specialty areas) who go on an expedition into the shimmer to find out what is happening inside, and look for the missing others. Inside the shimmer, they encounter all sorts of weird phenomenon and creatures.

Has anyone else seen it?

If different means bad then I'm with you. I kinda liked it till about the halfway point then it became a jumbled mess, that left me wondering why I stayed with it till the end.

I wouldn't say it was "bad," I felt like
once Natalie Portman reached the Lighthouse, and entered the underground butthole of prismatic fire
that's where it went downhill for me.

I just finished the book. Meh.

Haven't seen movie but I plan on it. But mostly because I think Natalie Portman is super hot.
