Back story here, I bought this gem in 2012 at roughly 86,000 miles as my first car at 18 from my sister in-law. Mostly highway miles from her with a few NC-CA trips under it's belt. Poorly maintained would be an understatement, but no matter, it's a early 2000's honda.

first up in 2012; i replaced the ignition switch and 12v as part of the deal(car was dead in the drive way and wouldn't crank due to failed switch) and that got it mobile. Routine maintenance was due, LoF, power steering fluid, snake oil injector cleaner, V-Tec solenoid gasket, pcv valve and she was on her way.

2016; 130k mi, prepped to move to Wilmington, tires-brakes, spark plugs and the works. Starter went out at 135k roughly, replaced along with timing chain.

Routine maintenance up until 2020, 180k mi. Both front wheel bearings, both axles, both lower ball joints, all 4 calipers, and prepped to lend the car to my little sister as her first car.

2024, the car has returned to me. Beat and bruised by a 16-21 year old young lady lol.

Current faults at 248k; radio screen and cd player stopped working, multiple power steering leaks, motor mount(s) noise, valve cover gasket leak, trunk release requires second set of hands to pop.

At some point during ownership, she hit a light pole, so the front bumper, head light assemblies, and left side lower control arm has been replaced. Damage to both front fenders remains, but more concerned with mechanical.

Plan to log and update with pics as I go along, this car is one I intend to keep so I'll have years worth of pics and repairs to share.

Junkyard dogs, feel free to let me know if you find any 2003-2007 Accord Coupe (2.4l auto) in your travels, especially around Central NC, that look worth checking out for parts!

Sounds like an awesome journey. Now slap an ebay turbo on that K24 and put about 7lbs of in it.....

It's a tank, I've been throughly impressed with how far it's gone with a relatively low amount in cost of ownership. As much as I'd love to rattle this cars cage, I'm going to keep knocking on wood with it lol.

Cheapest avaliable(and surprisingly really great after break in.) Front and rear pads and rotor kit from ebay installed, brake fluid flushed clear, coolant drained and filled today 1000013354.jpg

Parts ordered to fix power steering leak and trunk latch this week, valve cover removal for the gasket and check clearance next...

radio sceeen is a bummer(the big dash center piece with integrated AC controls and about a million buttons and 3 knobs lol), but I was able to blindly enter the mode to input security code and got in, took about 30 minutes but also managed to land on the radio channel for my Bluetooth FM transmitter in that time!

May upgrade to one of the Chinese full tech head units at some point, they run substantially cheaper than a replacement oem.
