My cc experiment today

Where in Shallotte did you manage to find a gas station with a long line? Maybe at WallyWorld you can find a line, but that's about it. It's also a great place for weird people watching. In fact, that's one place that sets my senses to high alert; it's gonna' happen there some day, betcha!

Just wait until a six year old runs into you and bumps his head on your gun. As he is rubbing his head tell him you are a undercover super hero and he just ran into your armor plate. True story.

I had this happen at a Verizon store years ago. Poor kid ran right into the butt of a 1911 with is head. He had been acting up not listening to his mom before this happened. He had a puzzled look as he walked away rubbing his head.

Good you weren't carrying a P320! ;)

I figure most people that notice are gun folks, LEO's, or criminals. The first 2 I don't care about knowing I'm carrying. The last one I don't mind them knowing. Your average person is pretty clue less, OC or CC. You get some people noticing OC, but very few react to it. And most of the ones that noticed have been positive response to OC.

Went shopping in a dollar store for an hour with lots of people in the store

Here is where it gets interesting.

This is the only thing that stood out to me.....what are you shopping for in the dollar store that takes an Hr??

Maybe he was shopping around for someone to notice his gun? ;)

A while back I was in the pharmacy, they have you wait a couple feet from the person at the counter for HIPAA, where a man was OCing that I actually had not noticed and a lady behind me made some comment about how childish and stupid it was for a man to carry a gun and how he must be compensating for his small ..., I just knew my shirt had ridden up and she was talking about me. I made a smart comment about her nosy ass needing to leave law abiding people alone just as the guy OCing walked by so I realized it was him not me ... oops.

Same-same. Good call. :D She needed it.

Don't worry about it. It's a gun, and you're legal (concealed or not). If you're even HALF concealed nobody will pay any attention except perhaps another gun person.

If they notice, who cares?

Carry on!

Most of the time my wife doesn't even know when its on me or not.
Figured yours would be like mine and assume I was carrying as long as two conditions are met:

1. It's a day that ends in "y"
2. I'm still breathing

:D

Haha, thats funny, #2 is my go to

The 2nd condition doesn’t apply to me. I have it in my Will to be buried with my Les Baer Commanche ... where I might wind up I’ll be ready to regroup with some past brothers if need be.

Oh you know..... When you are standing in the line to purchase something at the counter and that one person at the front of the line is buying 20 damn lottery tickets

I always look twice at folks (situational awareness and what not) thinking they are carrying only to realize it's a dam ginormous cell phone clipped to their belt with their shirt tucked behind it.

People notice asymetry more than they notice printing. I wear my gun at 3:00 and my mag at 9:00 with an untucked polo. People think I have love handles. When I switch to pocket carry I get "have you lost weight?" So if you're going to print do it on both sides and hide in plain sight.

Carry in church is easy if you dress for the occasion. A blazer is an excellent cover garment.
I walked into Costco behind a wide profile guy. He was struggling to balance printing with not wanting to get a 3X shirt he needed to actually be just loose enough to not print. He had something about the size of a Shield.

I'm not looking so much for those who are CC, even though I do see quite a few:)

My real spider sense is watching those who look hinky, spaced, pissed off and any others likely to go off. Them I watch like radar
Exactly. Saw a young black man with his wife and daughter. Looked too young yet for CC. He had his pistol OC in a holster. Unlike libtards, I saw nothing to be concerned about.

A lot of people around me seem to have a hard time believing I carry a full sized 1911. (1991A1, actually)

It's not hard. Heck, even my own wife doesn't know I'm carrying unless she actually sees it or feels it.

I had no idea that was you behind me. Why didn't you say hello?

P.S. It was a Shield ;)

And one day you will wake up and just not care anymore.

I reached this point a long time ago, in a lot of areas. Guns, what I say, what I do, when I do it and how I do it. Best thing for someone to do is just walk on by and leave me the hell alone. I usually have "that" look on my face that helps people arrive at this decision. But that's just me....

LIKE! every post on this thread.

I C/C everywhere it is legal to carry. Mrs. doesn't ask. She just assumes. She does like to hug me and ask the old question. Is that a gun in your pocket or are you happy to see me. I reply "both"!

I've been busted twice by bystanders that I know of, and I think a state trooper one day in a Showmars recently. I only noticed because he did a double take. He didn't seem happy as he looked at my 4 o'clock.

Another was a guy behind me in line at a grocery talking to the woman with him. I was doing the grocery cart waiting in line lean. I heard him whisper, "see the gun"? That was when I first started carrying.

Another time, I was in a store inadvertently flashed when carrying OWB while reaching for something. A teenage girl whined to her father about it. He told her to relax, but apparently the leftists in our school system had her convinced she was gonna die that day. She hid behind him the whole time I was in the aisle with them. Sad really.

Us belly boys have some issues C/C depending on the body type. Dunlop's disease actually makes it easier sometimes.

My CHP instructor advised us that we should seriously consider a size larger than normal. I'm lucky because I didn't have to change a thing to start carrying. When I was no longer required to where a suit, I went totally relaxed. I rarely tucked a shirt before or now, and I have always hated tight clothing. Even when I could get away with it!

Wife and I have a code word for gun. Tater chips. We ask each other if we have any" tater chips."

My wife learned that she can ask me if I would like to have a beer. If I say "Not right now", then I am carrying. :D

Also with my standard "I live in Durham" disclaimer: The reason I got my CC is that I was once SWAT-ted while on a walk through my neighborhood.

So YMMV when you OC.

I never O/Ced. Because of that. I live at the corner of Self-Righteous St. and Judgemental Ct. in an area that is full of northeastern transplants My neighbors are total D-bag snowflakes. Another neighbor mentioned to me that they had been discussing ways to get me tripped up because "someone was going to get hurt", according to them. I guess I made the mistake of telling them what I really think of their proselytizing and clogging the street when they have a "gathering" prior to canvassing the hood for recruits. They attempted to SWAT me and apparently got told that O/C is legal in NC, even the evil black rifle I was boresighting, and that I was on private property. Perfectly legal as long as no one was being threatened and the weapon was not discharged. They were flabbergasted! Again a heads up from someone.

I think the older I get, the less time I have to worry about what people think...life is short!

You mentioned you're carrying a Shield. Why OWB? They carry awesome IWB, you won't even know you have it on. It's the OWB holster that's causing it to print

This is TOTALLY UNSAT.

This is deliberately placing someone's life, as well as the lives of others, in danger over a stupid opinion.

It's akin, on one level, to antagonizing a bear or other such critter and getting someone killed because of it. Then, of course, the bear suffers the brunt by being hunted down and killed for something someone else started in the first place.

Quit. F*cking. With. People's. Lives.

I deliberately sling mine over my shoulder when I go shoot the ARs. I want them to see them. The more they see the less they will ever bother me.

I can only reply from the point of a tall burly midget. I have carried every day since 1976. I have carried 2 every day since 1986. Put them in your pocket and they're
gone. Nothing more natural than walking or standing with your hand in your pocket. With your hand in your pocket, nothing is quicker.

If I'm wearing clothes, I'm wearing a gun. In the shower - it's 2 steps away.
What's the advantage of being un-armed? Why would anyone choose that?
My LIKE button ain't BIG enough for you!!!!! I went out with a couple last night, both have CWPs, both were UN armed!!!
