I recently moved to North Carolina from Oklahoma and have my OK CCP. I just got my NC drivers license. Can I still conceal carry my weapon with my valid OK CCP? Or is it not sufficient now that I am an NC resident? I can’t find anything about this online.

You need a CC for the state your drivers license says you live in.

It's no longer valid since you're considered a NC resident.

When you changed your residency from OK to NC (DL and “permanent address”) your CCP very likely became void ... unless OK issues non-resident permits (which I don’t think they do especially since they’re going Constitutional Carry) and will switch your current CCP to non-resident.

Sad to say you’ll need to go through the CHP (here in NC we have Concealed Handgun Permits) which is a pain but you’ll learn the legal side and it’s differences from your OK CCP. It’s not hard ... just boring and costs you for the class and then the CHP application. It will likely take around 45 days give or take depending on what county you’re in (expect Mecklenberg which will very likely take longer). Let us know what county you’re in and we can point you to a couple instructors and give a little more insight into your county’s CHP process.

You need to be a resident for 30 days to apply for the CHP. So go ahead and find a class, take it, pass it, and schedule your appointment for day 31. You don't have to be a resident to take the class. How long it takes to get the appointment and/or permit depends on your county.
