NC Constitutional Carry

M4gery4life

Look, we disagree on some things. Maybe on the big picture. No hard feelings. I'm an old school US Constitution and Bill of Rights lover. Compromise is the crack in the door for the devil to put his foot in....in my opinion. A little back and forth is good for sharpening each other. Just don't go drink a BL in disgust. It will all be ok. (more humor at the end)

I listen to Tim Pool a lot... one episode he stated that we should be allowed to own nuclear weapons as citizens.. šŸ™„

with that comment, he loses 8/10ā€™s of the population... I would love to own a Spitfire with live ammo & drones with attack capability...

but I realize demanding them will get me nowhere & I donā€™t want to try to raid a NG armory. šŸ˜„

I just hate that the ā€œmoms demand actionā€ crowd get a morale boost from this & we get nothing.

Well, I don't ask for permission from the government to live free. God gave me my rights and that's all I need to understand. I'll die living the dream free as a bird.....flap flap flap...flapping my wings šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚

NRA is the one who butted in about the training thing. Of course at NRA or CCCA facilities. Should train you. However last I read. You need no proof of training, there is no repository of the trained which means training requirement is a nothing. Maybe the bill could read.

Have a gun Its yours just dont shoot anybody unless they are trying to kill you or somebody else. Otherwise rock on.

Iā€™ve thought about statements and opposing positions about this and have concluded that the 2A was meant to keep the citizens on par with their government. So maybe if I as a citizen shouldnā€™t have certain weapons then maybe governments shouldnā€™t have those either. For the same reasons.

When an entity with well-established abuse of power issues attempts to dictate what you may/may not have and/or what you may/may not do, especially if those possessions/actions accentuate or increase YOUR power, it oughta raise eyebrows.

Well as I said, I think basic training should be near free. I think our tax dollars should be used appropriately to fund ranges. In the Founding Fathers' day, guns were part of everyones lives. They were important to most people and many many people were well-versed in how they operated. We don't live in that world today. I've had people come to a class and tell me "They don't want to kill anyone" and they will "aim for the knee or leg" and they want to carry a concealed handgun. I've seen so many scary, dangerous, dumb things from average non-gun people I have come to think training is imperative. This is how we retain our rights, we educate and build up the number of good gun owners. That is my opinion. The whole 2nd amendment argument fails when you look at places like New Jersey, New York, California, and now Washington. The reality of what could happen is clear for all to see. We can combat some of this thinking through training and education. We are fighting for small percentages of people to our side of the issue. Yelling "It's my God-given right" doesn't do anything to change what is happening. Clear-headed strategic thinking can make a difference, I hope so anyway.

Then create a law that eliminates 90% of the people driving on the roads. Iā€™d venture to say that morons with cars kill far more people than a concealed carrier ever has.
Training, hah, most people on the road donā€™t have an IQ high enough to absorb training but they are out there doing their thing.
The government should not have a list of hoops you have to jump through to be able to follow a God given, constitutionally protected right.
Shall not be infringed, means just that.

I fear the roads way more than I do the gun.

And a class on how to change a tire and oil, jump a car, put out a fire with an extinguisher, kinda like we had when I was in school in 7th grade. It was called technology and life skills. Half of it was wood shop/auto shop and the other was ā€œhome economicsā€ class. We had a lady teach sewing, balancing a check book and basic cooking stuff. It was honestly my favorite class out of all my years of school. The guy taught auto and shop the second half of the year

Agreed. We are moving away from what makes us American. Self-reliance, common sense, and life skills are waning.

This I do not believe. The training will be on the honor system? No way. This looks just like a school yard child feud to see who can come out on top and take credit. I don't like the NRA, but I don't like this blame game either. Only a fool believes one side without hearing the other. If they can still get this ironed out then whatever. I don't think they will. I live free regardless of what tyrants demand. Cheers! šŸ»
Thatā€™s how Paul operates. Heā€™d be fired in most industries.

It would awesome If, they made a tax credit for folks taking the training of like 100 bucks per year that you take the training. Then, that would encourage folks to take the training while not allowing it to be a mandate. I am sure alot of folks that truly want to carry to protect themselves would take some type of training especially if it is online and free via NC DOJ. Then, criminals still wonā€™t take it, nor will Fudds. Thatā€™s ok too because it wonā€™t be infringing upon the TRUE clean constitutional carry. In fact it might even get some into the gun community out of curiosity while getting a tax break. Heck if you break even normally or are owed a small bit then it would end up 100 bucks you get paid to take a laws/ethics/ donā€™t do stupid stuff class.

The only training that should be mandated, is for a High School student to pass a full year of training on the Constitution from start to finish, before that student will be allowed to receive their diploma.
If the average idiot cannot figure out a revolver, they probably wonā€™t pass a year-long class to begin with.
No HS diploma, no Drivers license. No DL, no Nics pass.
Politicians suck. All Politicians.

I would support a primer on the constitution, but even grown, educated folks quabble about it with various interpretations... But I do think it's worth the attempt.

Why do they tack on an amendment to change it rather than just go change it? Is editing not allowed, or do they do it that way to make it confusing on purpose, or easier to change later by striking down changes to a passed bill rather than having to create new restrictions going forward?
You can not edit a bill after the process starts. Has to be done by amendments.

Shop classes in H.S. were alot of fun. Teachers would have their cars worked on and nobody would screw them up on purpose, we all wanted to a good job.

So was the Home Ec class. We learned to cook/bake and had extra meals for a whole semester. Our teacher was the football coach, and a giant overweight Italian guy. He loved to eat. And tell jokes. It was like having a fat Italian Gordon Ramsey as your teacher.
