What Ive got is a covered deck that measures about 15 wide and 40 feet long. Now what I need is a covered car port to keep the boat and maybe most of the truck in..So I started to take it apart today, man this is a lot of work..Im a 64 year old guy and its beating on me, but Its gotta get done.

I can't tell 100% but that looks like just a drill. If you're using just a drill to pull out the screws and they are fighting you, I really recommend picking up an impact "driver" and impact rated bits (normal bits just shear off). Quick pulses with impact driver will break them free. They really are a game changer for driving and pulling screws over a drill. I thought a drill was a driver until I helped put up a wooden fence and the guy had an impact driver. I went and got one the next week and haven't regretted it (only when using non impact rated bits and they shatter).

But seriously, I took one down about half that size just like that about 12 years ago, but the only thing holding most of it together was gravity. Many of the screws were just rusted through. When I rebuilt it I looked into one of these under deck systems that catch all the rain and channel it away, but they were pretty pricey if I recall.

I would’ve just added ramps. 😎
I thought the same if he was just storing a boat. Maybe tear up a little bit to reinforce where the tires will sit when parked. Harder when he’s planning to leave it attached to the truck!

Are you saving the wood or trying to repurpose it? If not a old chain on a chainsaw will make quick short work of getting it out but not the best method if you want to reuse it.

Luckily in this case,, the deck is fairly new and has been protected from the weather. The drill in question is just that, a Black and Decker 20 volt and I love these things and so much so I have two. Its a good thing the original builder used treated wood torx head screws so its coming apart nicely, but there are must be thousands of them Arfghhhh !!!Thanks for your imput tho,, that's good advise.

It’s a shame to tear down a nice covered space for coffee drinking and talking, but completely understand the need for keeping toys and vehicles covered.
Good luck.
That's why the original owner builder had this built and he used it quite often for just that purpose.. Its got power outlets along the wall and lots of ceiling lights and a spot or three on the outside edge with lights switches for all. Its actually really nice for that purpose. But, I don't have any family, no friends and I don't drink coffee. Plus, I have a deck on the front of the house and one on the back. This ones off my shed and just needs to go, need something to cover the boat and my old Chev pickup. Was looking at buying a large car port, but then thought ? That's Stupid, look out the back door.
