I was running a Nikon AR-223 scope with the Nikon P-23 mounts until a couple weeks ago. I got a new Bushnell AR-223 scope and mounted it using the P-23 mounts. Bore sighted it and took it to the range. Was able to hit steel at 300 yards but had a really hard time getting down on the scope without my headphones hitting the stock and lifting off my ears. Also, had a hard time getting a clear sight picture through the scope. I had to start to the right of the target and move the gun back to the left to keep the scope and my eye in line.
When I got home I tried to reverse the mount to see about moving the scope froward and inch but when I tightened down on the mounts the magnification knob was hitting the mount.
What mounts/rings would get the scope up about 1/2"? And I think the way the P-23 mounts are offset might be a problem getting the scope about an inch forward without putting the front mount of the forearm rail.
I hope all this is making sense.
