That is a mocking way of illuminating a truth. There are some who I would call naive (fool is actually a better word), who simply cannot bring themselves to swallow the idea that there is a vast network of lies, propaganda, and purposed evil which is ensconced in the power structures of the world, and that this evil is both coordinated (knowingly and unknowingly) and driven by a unitary purpose. Viewing the world in that manner changes everything about the way I view covid and whatever the societal threat of the day is.
I liken it to standing on an airport runway. Planes are circling, taxi-ing, landing, taking off, and it appears utterly chaotic. If you assert that there is a "control tower" where this mess is being shaped and directed, it sounds ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is the assertion that there is a fight in the tower itself and at present the bad guys APPEAR to be in control. The analogy breaks down, of course, as you pursue it further, but that is the assertion. The control tower is there and it is bad, or at least appears to be run by bad people.
This analogy is of course scoffed at by persons who assert that there is no control tower, and they mock the idea that any events might be the result of deliberate sabotage up there... as there is no "up there." This ridicule is made easier by well meaning and sincere people who assert that THEY know what is going on in the control tower and can explain all the details. Nope. The best we can do is to try to connect the dots and let the fools sneer at our "conspiracy theories."
I am just saying that when you make the jump from one world view to another, then yes, every thread is a covid thread, as covid is just one more result of some very bad tower directives.
I know the mods (some of them, anyway) who are the owners and I am pretty sure they are not gov sockpuppets
I think he was just pointing out the irony in this thread. Staff started this thread to announce the NEWS subforum, a place to contain all things covid, and yet the thread inevitably turned into a discussion of covid.

I have been here a few years and can categorically assert that there is no such thing as "containing" a topic to a thread structure. The mods (whom I really respect, they have a hard job) do their best, but so long as there are obstinate pigheaded recalcitrants like me in here, that is a lost cause
I am kind of surprised they haven't moved some of this to the "correct" venue, though. I think if they get irritated about the lack of thread discipline, they just close a thread, move it, or both. For me, when I see a topic that interests me, I NEVER check to see if the op is in the correct location before responding. I figure that is why we pay the mods such exorbitant salaries...., to maintain order in such things.

This his news that old bastard Gunbelt over had TFLG has lost his mind, out of his gourd. Cleotis talked him into cuttin 1or 2 horsebutts into belt strips. We’ll I’ll try anything once ( about died from that in late 60’s-70s). But that’s a story for another time.
Well Cleotis convinced Gunbelt in a moment of weakness (gummies from Maine)(30mg night) that he need to make a Fat Boy Belt with 2 layers of horse butt stitched together. We’ll I fired up that damn female sewing machine(all machines are female) after about 8’ of sewing it bent to my will. The brown is horsebutt ( my belt)
The black belt Fat Boy Belt XX sewn edges sir strengthing I suppose (yet to be seen) but the fellar testing it will give it a workout and see. Hard tempered Horse Butts are all I order from Horween last order. And this shit is hard. I made buckles out of the same hide for both these belts. A 3 ton arbor press won’t cut all the way through it. Well there’s your new and part of the story. A variation of a belt I said I’d never make!
the holster is just eye candy going to one of our fine members. The main body of th holster is Ostrich Leg, the top reinforcement is Ostrich Ass Cheek.
