First let me thank Contender for getting me through the sign up process - had a challenge I think because of a VPN I use.
I look forward to learning a lot from everyone here, been around guns since 2015, and ran a starter’s pistol for several years before that.

Welcome

Welcome neighbor!

The Starter Gun: mine was a cap & ball Colt (replica).

It shot as fast as lightning. But it loads a mite slow.

Cap and ball, wow! Mine’s an NEF (clone of an H&R) that holds 9 .22 blanks in the cylinder.

Welcome, we're happy to have you with us.

Welcome and what part of WNC are you from is it any where near Boone?

No, not near Boone. About 150 miles SW of there. Macon county, not far from GA.
Never spent much time in that area until about 5-7 years ago(?) I really like that area!

My wife is a GA girl and we started going that way to her family's place(s) in GA several years ago . A little longer for us but FAR more scenic and relaxing. Have stopped in about all the gun stores in the area on days we were not "hammer down" (pressured for time). Usually hit the Ingles (older one) for gas/bathrooms going and coming back as its about halfway roughly for us. Usually stop on Sundays coming back in Dillard GA for lunch Valley Cafe or Cupboard Cafe. Closer to you, I love Haywood Smokehouse but haven't ate at the one there yet-usually Waynesville or Dillsboro. Going through there tomorrow as a matter of fact-going to Clayton and Helen (for the weekend.)
