"The G49 MOS is essentially a G19 size grip frame with a G17 size slide, taking advantage of the proven carry frame size with a longer barrel and sight radius. This pistol is chambered in 9mm Luger, holds 15+1 rounds in standard magazine capacity, has a 4.49” barrel, Gen 5 characteristics, and the MOS system for mounting optics."

What is so funny is this was leaked some time ago and Glock played all coy at that time, like they were holding out on us with something fantastic.

I do want to know what the Glock 50 will be. Would be cool if they do a .50 GI factory gun.

How is the G49 different from the G45?

G19 lower, G17/G47 upper.

You know that's not how they roll!

Personally, I've been wondering why they haven't done this for the past 30 years.

I had a local shop chop a 19 to accept 26 mags, then stipple it. Yes, the stippling sucks, but this was the beginning of the Golden Age of the soldering iron/Glock jobs......try not to judge too harshly (I'll never add, "Custom" to the post if I ever sell it!)

Eventually I'd like to change the grip angle a bit like I did to a 23 in mid-90's. Not pretty, but I was trying to make a perfect carry gun for me, before the fantastic micro-9's came out.

The same way a 47 is different from the 45?

I'll freely admit to owning Glocks, but they've gone off the deep end with model numbers and variations of slide/frame options.

Still waiting for a slimmed down width G17MOS yet high capacity in .30SC. Let's see so the 37?

When the G45 came out, everyone said it was dumb and should have been the other way around. Now the other way around comes out.....that's dumb too! 🤪

All Glocks are dumb.

The giant frame and tiny slide was dumb.

"Hey, know the part of the gun that's hard to hide?"
"Sure."
"Yeah, so we made that big. And the part that you need to sight down; we made that small."

Dumb.

Despite Gaston's supercharged Austrian engineering autism, the model numbers are just the chronological order he got the patents.

Anne frankly, I prefer Glock not pulling a S&W just licensing every piece of possible tactical gear with Glock branding and not doing Kek-Tec's cool, but insane coke-fueled innovation.

That is a thing of nightmares.

Lol. of all here, I expected YOU to state the obvious! I KNOW IT'S HIDEOUS. But, as you know, ugly things sometimes work better than the pretty ones. :p
Someone had to make fun of it! 🤓

They will sell a ton of them.
You are correct!

Dumb.
I first thought the 19x/45 was stupid. Then I held one, then I shot one, then I talked to @thrillhill and he said he liked his a lot and NOW I got one and I get the “hype” about the 19X/45. It’s a really good gun and it feels good to shoot and carry. Sure, if I really need concealment I will carry my 43, but if I want capacity the 19x is my go to. Glock isn’t making anything “cutting edge” like a 365 or new designs or anything. That simply isn’t their business model and we all laugh and joke about it but their business model is working for them as they have guns being bought left and right and contracts, BIG ones globally. So we all laugh and say it looks goofy but, I can bet they did their homework on it and made something the market will support. Granted I likely won’t buy one myself same for the 47.

I wish they would release new models without the MOS trash cuts. I prefer to have my guns custom milled.

Or release them pre-cut for direct mount in the most popular optic footprints. That way they could make at least 3 of each version, dole them out one every 6 months so they have 'innovation' announcements for 6+ years without doing anything.
