Out with the 3 series (once I sell it) and in with the truck! I've been planning and working on this for months, closed an awesome deal at the end of Jan, and took delivery of my truck today.

I have a stack of small mods already waiting in the garage and had the dealer install my aftermarket wheels & tires. Conveniently, a customer who overheard me talking to the service guy asked to buy my stock wheels/tires so I didn't even need to take them home or worry about dealing with CL.

Bought from Mike Johnson Toyota in Hickory. I'd give them 4/5 stars, smoking deal, flexible, straightforward guys, no pressure at all in the finance office. If you're looking for a Toyota, lmk and I'll give you my guys' names.

2018 Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4
SCS SR8 17" wheels
255/75 Dynapro ATM's (1.5" bigger than stock)

At least it'll hold its value a HELL of a lot better than my 3 series! Never again.

@DirtySCREW I waited for the 18's because the cement gray is now available as a standard color rather than a TRD Pro exclusive (+$6k).

Do report back on your MPGs once you get a couple thousand miles on it. I'm curious. DirtySCREW has been getting 18.5 MPG HIGHWAY but it's a short drive; cruise at 55. Slowly going up, she's got 1600 miles on her now.

Nice truck. I love the color.
Thanks, I like bright blues and thought about that for this one but a friend has it and I realllly love this satin gray color!

After having 2 black cars, not an option. I've done 2 dark grey and a silver, and the grey range is definitely my sweet spot.

IMO the Tacoma is the best quality truck on the market today, mid or full size. Resell value is outstanding too.

The resell is a big reason why I bought it. But I've always liked tacomas. I just feel like they're the perfect all around truck for the average guy/DIYer.

As for my mpg's, my wheels, while larger in both rim and tire diameter, are 6lb lighter on each corner. Part of my focus was maintaining mpg's and I figured less rotating mass would help.

Only have 200mi on her right now (yes I drove 195mi today) and I'm at 17.8 and steadily climbing. It started at only 14 right off the lot.

Nice truck, do you know if they are making it in a standard cab version?

Thanks!
Tacomas only come in double cab (4dr) and access cab (2+2 half doors). If you don't care about 4 full size doors then you get a full 6' bed on the normal size chassis. With the 4 dr you have to choose either a short 5' bed or go to the long bed chassis which has a longer wheel base and looks kind funny IMO.

If you don't load it up with options/trim level like I did, you can find some surprisingly cheap deals on SR5 access cab models.

Nice!
You the same dude in TacomaWorld?
Great forum but if one is not careful, it can be a money pit.

Great looking pickup
My neighbor just got one like that but in white... really nice looking trucks.
