Newly discovered culinary delight.

It should be available at most grocery stores if you don't want to order it online. It is typically in with the Mexican foods.

The Mexican H2A workers that I worked with the other summer turned me onto it. They were putting it on their watermelon, the first time I saw it.

My 5’7” 98 lb teenage freak daughter said the chicken thigh fajita’s with that stuff were the best she ever had. She doesn’t like much. And we eat a shit ton of fajita’s. The wife agreed.

And if you don’t like it you are Putin supporter and climate denier. 😳

Actually, the Tanjin was REALLY good on our tacos. Made “street“ tacos where we cooked onions and peppers in tanjin and adobe and the sliced some steak and cooked it with a combination of dash of tamari and Worcestershirem some cumin, and a little adobo, tanjin, and very slight sprinkling of ghost pepper powder. Wife was really impressed. I had mine with some lettuce, fresh red onion, pickled jalapeños, sliced avocado, and salsa none of which she‘d like, but was delicious.

We put it on grilled cheese and arepas (which is a grilled cheese on cornbread)
I put some on bacon last night and on a pimento cheese sammich today.

Both were welcome additions.

Jeezlus, I had no idea I had been holding out on everyone for the last decade or so🤣

I thought I was behind the curve back then and everybody knew about it but me.

Thanks, @Chdamn for bringing this culinary delight to the masses of cff as is your duty.

I remain in awe😁

Here is the no sodium organic version, for those so inclined.

Of course it is🤣. Thanks, i never would have gotten that one. Looks good.
Well they told me I was pronouncing it decidedly white. To whit I rubbed my forearm and said “it doesn’t come off Karen”.

I was pronouncing it tuh djin

I was informed it was pronounced tah heen.
According to the Hispanic crew I've been with on my bridge build this is correct.

I got "mucho, Gordo gringo, hefe" points for being a fan when they wanted me to try it and I had my own bottle in my lunch box🤣

Now the "smoked" crickets they had a bag full of last week, may have lost me a few points. But the Tajin did make them tolerable....

Because of this thread, I asked my wife to grab a bottle on her way home.

Uh, I can't get into it. The flavor, nimrods, not the bottle.

Seems all I can taste is lime. I mean, it's like im just adding lime to my food.

Now, I did enjoy it when I sprinkled some in the mayo I was dipping my fries in last night.

Otherwise, meh.

I'm going to have to play around with it some more but that was my initial thought. Maybe I put too much on eggs this week. The lime flavor was overwhelming.

Yeah you don’t need much. This is a sprinkle a little on kind of thing.

And yeah the lime flavor is the biggest part of it.

A little gives you a nice citrus zest to a dish. A lot and all you can taste is the lime.

When I say I put some on my eggs I’m talking a 1/4 tsp roughly.

When I added it to a pot of pintos for for 20 people I put in about 2 tsps.

That's because you don't speak Spanish. The j is more of an h sound and an h is silent like the p in president Biden.
I always thought the H was silent like the P in Shower. But I like your way better. 😂

I have some of this.

I first bought some as a "hey, this looks different" move at Walmart a couple years ago.

My first impression was "HOLY COW, THAT'S GOT SOME POWERFUL LIME FLAVOR!"

It caught me flat-footed at how strong the line is.

I agree. I bought a bottle of "Citric Acid" crystals for descaling my coffee pot. Says on the jar it's also a food additive. Tastes exactly the same to me as Tajin.

That’s probably going to piss off the wife…jus sayin…😳😝
Remind me to tell the joke about the old lady that asks for a loan to develop a powder that you sprinkle on lady parts to make them taste like oranges.

It needs a little more heat. Agreed.

I’ve had this in my spice cabinet unused for a couple of years. Think my brother gave it to me and I never tried it. Will give it a shot in some eggs tomorrow

Lunch today was some leftover ribeye steak sliced into strips, seasoned with Sazon, shredded cheese, baby spinach, hot sauce on mini tomato/basil burrito shells.

Sprinkle it on Gualamoki!
