Forgetting (momentarily) whether her action is Constitutional, what about innocent until proven guilty?

“Since charges began being filed, we are using our lawful authority to immediately suspend the licenses of 22 individuals involved in the storming of the U.S. Capitol. This is an ongoing effort, and as charges and sentences continue in the wake of this despicable attack, we will further suspend and revoke any additional licenses granted to insurrectionists.”

“The deeply disturbing events that occurred at our nation’s Capitol on January 6th were sedition, treason, and domestic terrorism – and those individuals involved in the insurrection must be held accountable for attempting to subvert our democratic process,”
After reading that, do you really have to be told she is a Democrat?

So evidently the protest made lawmakers realize they are not untouchable. They are trying to fear monger folks into not participating in unarmed protest. Hmmm
Exactly. This is an intimidation tactic to try to squash more (unarmed) protests. As was said above, "innocent until proven guilty". It goes along with the saying that I have heard lawyers use,
"Everybody deserves their day in court". While I am not familiar with FL law, everything I have read about disqualifying offenses says "convicted of", not "charged with". I doubt that FL is any different. Unfortunately for them, the traditional recourse is to file a lawsuit, likely at great personal expense, and challenge this. If they're lucky, in a few years time they'll get "permission" to exercise their rights again. In the mean time, I am sure the tyrants will gleefully uphold and enforce this (very likely) illegal proclamation.

As scared and butthurt as these political cretins got over an unarmed group smashing a few windows, just wait for their reaction when the real revolt happens.

Now that I think of it she is suspending the permits for things they haven't even been charged with.

And not a single one of those “charges” are being used. Only trespassing types. Maybe a few vandalism tossed in….
shall issue exclusions are usually written broad enough that they're just as bad as may issue permits

This is the part about "licensing" I've never liked.

A state that licenses people to exercise a right can revoke that license any time they wish, with or without any court interaction.

Which is BS.

Good point,
because as I read it the 10th Amendment would preclude the state's right to do this

Show us the dead bodies. The Congress was back in session after a few hours.
People disrupt court proceedings, they are never charged with sedition, treason or terrorism.

Well put,
and while we are at it, what about treasonous and seditious statements by aoc, the squad, and madmax?

In S.C. your CWP can be revoked for Anything reported that SLED doesn't like. I personally know of a case in Conway where a Horry County Police Officer was in line, plain clothes and Off Duty and saw a woman making a fuss with the cashier. Cursing and waving her arms about. When the woman left the officer went to the cashier, looked at a check the woman wrote, got her info and The Next Day an Agent from SLED went to the woman's home and took her CWP...revoked on the spot.
When she was behind her she saw the CWP in the woman's wallet and took action. This officer told me they felt perfectly fine with what they did.
If they want ya....they'll have ya. 🥺

and I hope some day we run out of rope.

well, that may not even matter
were the capital police even authorized to ask those people to leave?
I remeber a story from a few years ago, someone wanted to see their “representative” at the office in DC. Given the run around, this individual refused to leave untill they speak with the rep. Eventually the individual was arrested for trespassing. When it went to court or the first appearance, can’t remember exactly, the case was tossed due to it could not be trespassing when it is a “public office” in a “public building” for the citizens.

Should be real interesting when the “publics” attorneys start their arguments
