When replacing spark plugs would you replace the boot that slide over the spark plug or just keep using it if working fine? The boot on the fusion hasn't been replaced in 200,000 miles.

I would keep using it if it is not part of the problem. My experience has been that some of these replacement items like these are very cheaply made. They are not as good as OEM. If replacing plugs and such as would get OEM quality. The plastic and rubber feels different to me like more brittle and less pliable.

If they are soft and pliable, keep them in place. I replaced the wire sets on both my '99 taurus and sable at 150K with Bosch sets.

Coil on plug? At 200k I would replace the coil boots if they were at all questionable. If you have a miss, either replace the coils and plugs, or figure out which cylinder and at least that coil.

Thanks y'all. I'll inspect them when I change them out. The wires and boot were supposedly changed at 100k by a shop.
