NOT GUILTY!!!!!!!!!!!!

So this is the one thing that stood out to me. I think murder was the wrong charge just like in the Trayvon Martin case.

The bullet ricocheted on the pier's concrete walkway before it struck Steinle, killing her. Zarate has admitted to shooting Steinle, but says it was an accident.

Thats why I can't believe they didn't even come back manslaughter

Not surprised at all.
I agree with you. I told my wife this was what was going to happen and I based my belief on the political climate there. I understand that there were three "immigrants" on the jury. I didn't hear any explanation of that. What a freaking disgrace. Thank God it wasn't my daughter.

I went to some training once that was given by federal officers. They said that they would deport once then the next time there was a mandatory 10 year sentence for re-entering the country. This guy did it 5 times and they are going to deport him???

Okay, so I know the criteria and parliamentary procedures exist for allowing a state to secede...But what about a process for the majority of the states to kick another state out of the union? Is there such a thing? If not there should be and I want to start with California, seriously.

Anyone got a link. My memory is fuzzy.

No charge for discharging a fireman inside the city?
Not guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

If you wave a gun around and it goes off I guess you are free and clear.

Ok. Now I remember.

Yeah that’s dispicable. I don’t know if, based on the evidence, I could have returned a verdict of murder and I don’t recall any premeditation, but he was certainly guilty of manslaughter and at the very least negligent homicide.

However, isn’t the law in CA that if a person dies during the commissions of a felony you are responsible and guilty of murder? And isn’t the possesssikn

Zarate was found not guilty of first and second degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. He was also found not guilty of assault with a semi-automatic weapon. He was found guilty of possessing a firearm by a felon.
*sigh* so much WTF.

If California has poor air quality and ignores US Clean Air Act, the US EPA and DOT stop funding transportation projects.
If California wants to ignore Federal Immigration Laws, then the money must stop.

Time to release anyone from California serving time in Federal prison and
ship them back to California.

Shame we don't have the Tesla earthquake machine. I think the San Andreas fault needs a big kickstart.

No surprise- they call it the Left Coast for a reason, and its not geography. I was in Commiefornia last year, including San FlakeCrisco. Nice scenery but otherwise the whole state made me nauseous.

Backing up the bus, the city didn't turn him over to ICE after his original jail time ( they didnt mention for what), so the wording makes it seem like ICE knew this specific illegal was being released. Are you telling me that the US Government has no jurisdiction at all in "sanctuary cities " ? I thought that meant that the city wouldn't turn them in, not that the ICE wouldn't act on a very specific individual whose precise whereabouts are pretty obvious.

And the attorney took the time to take a political swipe at Trump in the video statement, so apparently the Safe Space has no bounds.

I don't think it was murder. Sounds a whole lot more like manslaughter or negligence. Which is funny because until yesterday I had not hear about a ricochet, I just thought he shot her in the back.
On Law and Order they talk about depraved indifference.

If what is outlined in the article is correct, that the bullet ricocheted prior to hitting her then I don't think murder is a fair charge but involuntary manslaughter would be.

I can't help but think what would have happen had the roles been reversed. If she picked up a gun that she found and it went off, killing an illegal alien with an already growing criminal history. Think she would walk?
