I just got my Hornady Handbook of Cartridges Reloading, Tenth Edition, this morning. I haven't read it through or studied it.

I do have a few impressions and opinions.
1) It's Hornady, Hornady, Hornady, Hornady, Hornady, Hornady, etc. Nothing wrong with that? Just more than I expected
2) It has 1,012 pages! A lot of great information!
3) Much more rifle dominant than I expected. I know I got into reloading late in life, but I've always assumed that more pistol rounds were reloaded, than rifle. I'm probably wrong again?
4) The .380 ACP round gets the short shrift. The book labels it "380 Automatic (9mm Kurz)". The book states "the 380 has sufficient power for hunting small game such as rabbits, but the firearm for which it is chambered are generally not accurate enough for such use." That's on page 862. My Browning 1911-380, Black Label belies that. There are loads for numerous powders, but only two bullets. The 90 gr. XTP and 100 gr. FMJ-RN. The Hornady item nos. for the two bullets are listed.
5) For 9mm, 124 gr. bullets and 147 gr. bullets, there are no listings for Win231/HP38, Titegroup, or Bullseye powders. That struck me as a little odd. I reload a lot of 124 gr. bullets, using HP-38/Win231. I have used Titegroup in the past, but I've never tried Bullseye.

I haven't delved into .45 ACP, .45 Colt, or 38./.357 Mag. I'm forward to doing so.

Just a heads up -- you posted this in BST, but I think you meant to post it in the reloading forum.
Agreed. I'm moving it.

@powwowell if you think it should be somewhere else, let me know.

The Speer manuals I have are Speer, Speer, Speer. The Barnes manuals are Barnes, Barnes, Barnes. The manuals put out by bullet makers are generally fairly specific to the bullets they make. I would be rather surprised if I saw data for Barnes bullets in a Hornady manual.

That pretty much nails it. Just like the powder manufacturer websites only list the powder THEY make.

Just an FYI, any data in the Speer manual using Alliant powders is the same data from the Alliant website. Most of the projectiles listed in the Alliant data are Speer bullets. The two companies are connected.

If you want a manual with different brands of bullets and powders, get the Lyman #50.

I like to have a few of those "all in one" spiral bound reloading books that are caliber specific. You'll fond tons of bullet/powder combinations in each one, and they're generally cheap.

I think a reloading book is so 1980..

Google is way better

"Siri, what is the maximum charge of Tite Group under a 9mm 147gr semi-wad cutter?"
