NY Attorney General on Reciprocity

I still can't understand New Jersey's ban on hollow points.
Shows their lawmakers true ignorance on physics.
Remember: that is also the place that makes it illegal for you to pump your own gas. That doesn't do anything to help understand their ban. I'm just taking the opportunity to jump on the "bash NJ" train!

Once you cede authority to the feds to make a decision, it honestly doesn't matter what decision is made. You have already gone on record as ceding said authority. As written this law isn't too bad honestly, but once it becomes their bag it will become a new tool in their book to further limit rights.

I agree. The difference here is that there is no “authority” so to speak. There’s just an instruction for states to recognize a permit that is totally valid and good in another sate—exactly like a DL. There is no checking in, getting a permit, or other interaction with the Feds. It’s almost like reminding everyone to breathe. Just do it; you don’t need to go through any other entity to do it.

No?

No. You are having the feds say that they have authority (most likely using the interstate commerce clause) to force states to accept other states gun permits.

Basically saying that the state's don't have the right to decide. This is more fed power not less. While it may do some good I'm think it will be short lived
