So I wanted to start a thread about the Obi Wan where people who have seen it can talk about it without spoiling it for others.

I enjoyed the first to Episodes. Visually it was excellent and absolutely theatre level quality. I do wish they had made the Grand Inquisitor closer to the original character from Star Wars Rebels. Overall the story is being well setup. I like that the actors and actresses who played Uncle Owen, Aunt Beru and Senator Bail Organa all return. We all know Christensen Hayden is coming back. The Kumail character was as expected. I doubted that he would play serious character but I liked the performance. I am sure he will reappear later in the show.

There were clearly some lingering questions.

-Why does Obi Wan not know that Darth Vader is still alive?

Obi Wan should have been able to sense him through the force. My theory on this one is that Obi Wan has shut himself off from the force. His fighting style and abilities to channel the force are clearly rusty. When confronted by the young Jedi in hiding he tells him the war is over and they lost. The time of the Jedi order is over. Yet he buried his and Anakin's sabers. When talking to Uncle Owen he says the boy must be trained. One can assume the he is keeping Anakin's saber for Luke. We know he gives it to him in Star Wars. When he has to use his force abilities to save Leia it may be the first time he has connected to the force in years. As he fights to escape Reva and she yells "You can't escape him Obi-Wan" he senses Vedar because he is once again connected to the Force.

-Reva the 3rd Sister Inquisitor Who Is She?

I think she is a former Padawan. She is clearly force sensitive. Many Inquisitors were former Jedi. Some are speculating that she is in the flashback scenes to order 66. Is she the one on the top left? She knows the true identity of Darth Vader. If she was a Padawan at the time of Order 66 she would have seen Anakin kill the Younglings. She would know his presence in the force and know he is now Vedar. They say she grew up in the gutter. If she somehow escaped order 66 she would have lived on the streets of Coruscant. We know from the last season of The Clone Wars life outside the upper world of Coruscant was short brutish and ugly. The Jedi took the Younglings from their families to train them and Reva's hatred for Obi Wan could stem from the fact she was left by herself in the
"gutters" once the order was no more. There is something peroneal about her obsession with Obi Wan. It could also be because she is devoted to Darth Vader who certainly has to hate Obi Wan at this point. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

-Is the Grand Inquisitor Dead?

I don't think so. We saw his death in Rebels. It would be too big a RETCON to have him die this way.

Easter Eggs:

Obi Wan tries to give Luke a T-16. It is the same toy he is playing with in Star Wars.

Temuera Morrison makes an appearance. He is wearing the uniform of the 500 adn 1st legion which was commanded by Anakin in the Clone Wars.

I did catch R2D2 and C3PO. I did not catch the T-16.

Not a big fan of Reva. I get the character and I can get what she is trying to do, but she gives a BLM vibe to the character. It is almost a distraction. I don't know, I can be swayed. I will let it play out and see if it changes my mind.

I really really enjoyed it.
