Officer hailed for confronting school gunman

Good for him. Maybe they can get him to go train the Broward county Sheriff's department....

Now, since I seem to be missing the connection, please point out to me where @Sevenshot said that the officer was a hero for doing his job.

You seem to believe that heroism can't coincide with the performance of Civic Duty and I want to understand why.

I'm not sure "hero" is the word best used but let's do give the guy some credit for not standing outside picking his nose while the shooting was going on. At least he did what he was trained to do, confront the shooter and make him cease the shooting. Damned shame we now have to do the trial and that whole 9 yards...
 
All the more reason tand example of why we should have more armed people at places like schools. This shouldn’t be limited those of “government”.

That officer did a good job, he did what we the public hired him to do. I am not putting down in any way. His name should be in the news. With our news we never hear the names of people that stop crazy people, but we hear the names of criminals over and over.
 
over two decades in law enforcement, so yeah I would say it was part training and not worrying about going home safe at the end of a shift.
 
..some officers are well trained...most are not. Thankfully this officer was paying attention and had the mindset to get in the fight.
