At gunshop today, with someone who was buying. While waiting, I saw it.

Had to pick it up. Now it haunts me...


Full size RIA 1911. Mil-spec sights. Double-stack .45 ACP. Parkerized finish.


List price $489. 489 beans for a double-stack 1911...

Now I have to decide... is this where I blow the fiscal responsibility I have been preaching? Damn.....

Why waste your money on that 45acp? Go big or go home, right?

For only a few bucks more you can have a threaded 10mm double stack with threaded barrel!

I do this in my head all the time.
Should i buy a gun? Why not its only $500. Well if I'm spending $500, i can get the one i like a little more for $700. I guess if I'm spending $700 then why not get the shotgun i want that's $1000? Of course, $1000 is only $250 away from $1250 which would get that rifle i like. Dang, for $1250 i could get 2 cheaper handguns... or 1 nice one......

Then i pass out from the room spinning, wake up, and check my credit card to see if i ordered anything. If not, the process starts again. If yes, the clock starts until i can start the process again.

Sounds like a different version of my addiction.

Knowing myself, I bought the smallest safe I could find. Hell, I could fit it inside our toaster oven. Having such a tiny safe would surely keep me from buying more guns than would fit inside.

Yeah, right! 😢
