Opinion Needed

My wife Susan and I ate lunch at her Mother's house today. We knew her mother wanted to discuss this pistol but weren't sure of her intentions. It turns out, Susan's father already had plans for this pistol quite sometime before his death. The attached letter was written by her Mother recently. When my wife and I read it, Susan and her Mother broke down crying. Herald already knew where he wanted his pistol to go. The other attachment is a welcome letter from Colt that Susan's Mother accidentally partially shredded years ago and then reconstructed it. The gold label came from the original box and the snall white circular tag was attached to the trigger guard when the revolver was new.

Herald's pistol, per his wishes, is now home where he wished it to be. It will be well guarded and cared for, for future generations to come.

would be cool to get a nice display box for it, beautiful heirloom piece.

crazy to think it looks like he paid 288 bucks and now its worth a couple thousand.

great looking gun, glad you were able to keep it in the family.

Thanks for sharing that with us Dave and good to know that the original owner's wishes have been met.

This same directive will hopefully be understood and followed by future generations that share in ownership of that firearm. If proper care and levels of security are provided for the pistol and a desire to preserve it for future family members is maintained, I'm sure that it will become quite the conversation piece in later years.

That's a nice story. I'll give you $2,800 for it. PM me. Thanks.
