Optic options for a scar17 multicam

That's why I was leaning towards an acog
After dropping the money on SCARs don't cheap out on optics. The vortex razor gen 2 is good and I would also recommend nightforce, either their NX8 or ATACR lines. I have seen all those optics withstand the SCAR.

I don't want to spend as much on a scope as on the rifle but I also don't want to have to replace it because it couldn't handle the scarYou have two SCAR 17's and want to go cheap on glass???
Nice rifles - I do want one eventually.

ACOG would work but most people go with the ELCAN but as you know and mentioned its expensive.

Something like a 2-10 or a 2-12 and a piggybacked red dot could be sweet on a scar, something to help you really capitalize on the 308s potential.

I think a Trijicon AccuPoint 2.5-10x56 (and a great mount) would be an awesome choice to match up with the Scars capability 
. I reckon the question I always ask is how do you intend to use it? Be sure your optic choice supports that purpose the best.
