Options for DA/SA pistols?

This is a solid choice. I have a CZ P-01 and P-01 Omega SR. I've carried the former and it's outstanding, but the PCR is even a little lighter without the rail.

I generally carry a Shield Plus now as a pocket pistol, but will still grab the P-01 sometimes.

Another XD-E fan here. It looks awkward because it was built to accommodate .45 ACP, but it is not as big as many think (see compared to HK P2000SK below). Its option of cocked-and-locked carry or hammer-down DA is versatile and the gun is only an inch thick.

Could always try to hunt down a Sig P224.... although they apparently command a premium now.

About those HK variants. IMO the LEM or light LEM versions are the way to go. Their standard DA triggers are to say the least not stellar. But hell they are safe. 🤣
Out of the box, the weight and reset aren't steller, but they grey guns short reset fix makes the DA/SA significantly better than the LEM

It's too late in the evening, and my alarm to get up for work is BEFORE 0330, so I skipped just about everything but the OP.
You want quality DA/SA with concealability and capacity, get a Sig P229 with a stock short reset trigger. You'll never go back once you go with the 229.
My best advice is, as always, do your research BEFORE you spend your money, and if possible, try out the candidates before spending your money

If I were in the market for a da/sa for edc, I'd have an awfully hard time picking between a sig p229 and cz p01.

Really not a fan of anything much smaller for edc.

I guess it’s down to the CZ75 PCR and a Sig P365…

Wait, I thought you specifically wanted a DA/SA carry gun?

Here is a short review of the CZ P-07 by Honest Outlaw. In other reviews and comparisons, he says this gun is one of his all-time favorites.

Yeah, can’t make up my mind. I don’t like plastic guns, I like small size, large capacity and DA/SA. The 2075 RAMI was the only pistol that fit this criteria but it was discontinued

I doubt you could go wrong with either of these CZs. Aluminum vs Polymer. If you say "polymer" enough times, you might forget about plastics. @Jayne has polymer guns with bunches of rounds through them, if durability is the issue. Don't mind me though, because I love them all like they are my babies.

The Rami was kind of awful, it weighted a ton and was too small to justify how much it weighted.

For what its worth I had a p07 and p01 at the same time. The p01 trigger is better but it is easier to run a p07. Specifically grabbing the slide for some reason is much easier. Outside of those two minor differences they shoot just about the exact same. I personally did not notice the weight difference when shooting them. I kept the p01 and ditched the p07 to buy a cgw trigger kit for it. If you buy a newer model p07 (two cuts in magazine body) those mags will also fit the p10 series.

If you want a true polymer 75 there was a sp01 phantom that is now discontinued. No idea why cz discontinued it they are not very common.

the phantom used the legacy action (not omega) which was interesting but much more complex and expensive to produce than the omega. CZ has really under-marketed the omega system which is nothing short of brilliantly simple.

Isn't the omega straight trash compared to the 75 series trigger? That is what on the meme lords on reddit claim.

A lot of these choices come down to personal preference. My trigger finger is slightly bent toward my middle finger, so any extremely curved trigger, like on the CZ 75D PCR, or narrow in height trigger guard, gives me problems. G19/17 and VP9s rubbed my cuticle so bad it hurt - and yes I am kind of a wuss. The triggers on the CZ as shown below would trap my finger after one or more shots, so not the best for me. (PCR on the left, P-07 on the right.) I prefer straighter triggers and bigger trigger guards. I guess I could train my way out of the grip that puts my finger too low on the trigger with curved triggers?

the original 75 trigger is easier to get a magnificently smooth DA pull. The omega DA pull isnt as tunable. However for the gain in simplicity and durability I’ll take the omega every time. And for those who need a silky smooth trigger (I’m not one of these) there are the cajun or cz custom parts.

the omega (P-07/P-09) is probably the easiest TDA pistol to disassemble and service. Easier than a 92 or P30 which are also quite easy. On the contrary I’m not comfortable performing frame disassembly on a standard CZ-75 as the sear housing is just beyond my comfort level. The omega is a Lego set by comparison.

I don't think so imo either buy a different gun (sounds like you already did) or buy a cgw trigger or newer style trigger shoe. Newer P01 have a straighter style trigger. The green p01 is a stock 2021 (or 2020 idr exactly) other post is from @Mitch Rapp he has an AMAZING write up on the 75 series I can link if you are dedicated to making a 75 work for your finger there is probably some helpful stuff in there.

Edit- now I'm wondering if the PCR is just dumb I think the p01 used to have that hella curved trigger idk what a current PCR trigger looks like.

Here is the lineup from the CZ USA website. The black P-07 above looks like the one I have, which is the current model. I searched for the write-up on the 75 series, but there are a bunch of posts to wade through. Any help will be appreciated.

Big vote for the PX4 Compact Carry done up by Langdon. It’s a chunky girl, but is an amazing shooter. The reset and single action is on par with my langdon and Wilson 92G, and I actually think it has a nicer double action pull. That says a lot. The rotating barrel makes it’s a soft shooter as well. If you can deal with the thickness, it is a real winner. I prefer it to my P01, PCR, 92 compact and 229 for carry.
There is also a PX4 subcompact without the rotating barrel. Not sure if it's thinner but it's still DA/SA.

First CCW was a P-07. One of the best factory triggers at the time, still pretty great today. I would highly recommend it.

Bersa Thunders in 380 are the right price point and are DA/SA. Not as pretty as the Walthers they copy but perform just as well.

The HKs are great, but the magazines are a deal killer (expensive). Third gen S&W autos are awesome handguns with sturdy, smooth triggers. But man, they are HEAVY by modern standards.

Check out Lucky Gunner on Youtube. Their host has a thing for revolvers and DA/SA guns so that might give you a few ideas.
