In Klamath Falls, Oregon, victory declared over antifa, which never showed up
Towns from Washington state to Indiana have seen armed groups begin patrolling the streets after rumors spread on social media about an antifa invasion.

Tensions were already high in Klamath Falls. Peaceful protests 150 miles north in Eugene, Oregon, had been followed by a fire in the street and looting. On local social media, rumors were swirling that buses filled with outsiders were planning to infiltrate Klamath Falls to wreak similar havoc.

So some Klamath Falls residents armed themselves and hit the streets. Those that had children to look after watched the downtown protests from Facebook, according to comments left on the stream.

"As you can tell, we are ready," one armed man said in a Facebook Live stream with 124,000 views. "Antifa members have threatened our town and said that they're going to burn everything and to kill white people, basically."

Beyond protecting the businesses on Main Street, the armed group asked: "Why would Black Lives Matter need to protest in Klamath Falls?"

A forfeit is still a win in the standings.

Can you post more, please?
Im glad ANTIFA didnt come in and burn anything, but I dont understand claiming victory if the other side never showed

Well, if your initial show of force caused the enemy to flee the battlefield, after claiming they were going to eradicate you, then you won.
What if they never intended on showing?
Hear me out here - a couple tweets take, what, ten or so seconds each? (Never done it, but assuming it's just as long as it takes to type out the message)
How easy would it be to tweet out some threats and get a place all riled up with no actual intent on going there?
They are terrorists, they want to scare and disrupt lives. It'd be so simple to just tweet and let people get excited.

Just a thought.

While I dont disagree that it may be just a bluff to get people riled up, and if so, it worked. The point is, if I tell you I am going to whip your tail in a fight, and I tell you I am coming to your house Saturday night, then its on for Saturday night. If I dont show up to the fight after puffing myself up and telling you I am going to mop the floor with your face, yet...I dont. Then bluff or not, I lost. Even if my only goal was to rile you up, its a victory I can only celebrate with my fellow buddies. To everyone else, I look like a coward with an alligator mouth and a hummingbirds tail.

To add to that, who was the real "loser" in the bluff? The side that puffed themselves up, or the side that said "We are ready." In the end the goal of Antifa may have been to rile people up, which they achieved, but the real end goal was that they made themselves look weak and cowardly for not following through.

Youre likely right @B00ger , typically spot on on things

You have a valid point. There's no way if knowing if a threat is real and what you mention is a valid way of draining or misallocating resources. But, if even a modest showing of resistance can thwart what would otherwise be unopposed destruction of property, then it might be a good tactic. It does require restraint on the part of the "protectors" though.
Think about the roof top Koreans.

ETA- One of the more interesting parts of the article for me is the question at the end of my post...

Heh...tell that to my wife...and the mods...

But I do get your point. The end goal of terrorists is to strike fear or illicit a reaction. While they failed horribly on the fear side, they did illicit a reaction. I do think that antifa is slowly getting the message that they can infiltrate a protest that is already taking place and rile the mob. But what they cant do is show up in certain areas alone and try to start a mess. There are WAY too many country boys and girls out there that are itching to put some "kill" marks on the side of their 4x4s for the butt whippings they feel are righteously earned.

Who speaks for Antifa? Seems like anyone could tweet out some crap with no real plans, maybe just hoping to get something started while they watch online from Mom’s basement.
