Thank your for the info.I think there is a public range in Gastonia. Right near the 321/85 interchange. I see signs for it all the time and went to check it out one Wednesday and sign said it was closed that day. Kind of behind the QT I think.
Nevermind in the pistol/rifle range at Rankin Lake. Closed to public in 2018.
Gastonia shuts off public access to outdoor pistol range

Back in the day Leeds was awesome. You could take washing machines, and other junk to shoot. But the stopped that because people would carry their trash out. It has always been free but about during Covid they had a sign up saying they was going to start charging 5$ a day if people didn’t start cleaning up. Not sure if the did or not.I will check out a few. Never heard of Leeds. Again I like being outdoors and not packed inside with many shooting.
Foothills is actually pretty nice. Steel range for handguns/PCC's and one of the longer rifle ranges in the area (250 yds) unless you want to take a 2-3+ hour drive somewhere like the Sawmill down in Laurens.Foothills Shooting Complex might be an option for you. I’ve never been there but a few friends have and said it’s decent for a public range.
