PHA Action Pistol Match 8/27/2022

Hello all,

The action pistol match is this Saturday.

Match is 5 stages.
Minimum required equipment is a pistol you are familiar with, a safe holster that covers the trigger guard, spare magazines or speed loaders, and 150 rounds of ammo. Eye and ear protection are mandatory for shooters and spectators.


Stage setup starts at 7:30ish
Sign in from 9:30-10:00
Safety briefing 10:10-10:15
Typically it runs until 2pm.

Hello all,

Thank you for braving the heat and sun yesterday. We had 23 shooters show up. It was a tight race for 1st place with the top 5 shooters all being within a few seconds of each other. The score sheet is attached.

Now for a sad announcement:

I will no longer be able to run the Action Pistol Match for PHA. Between a growing business and growing family, I simply cannot dedicate, with 100% certainty, a weekend every month to the match. I am extremely appreciative of all the help I got on match days with setup, RO-ing, and teardown. I am most thankful for all the people who told me they enjoyed the matches after we finished. Without people coming out and enjoying the matches, all the work of designing stages and setting them up would not be worth the effort. I haven’t spoken to anyone directly about possibly taking over as match director, but PHA is interested in keeping the match going. If anyone wants to volunteer their time as MD, let me know and I will put you in touch with the right people. I am happy to assist with transitioning if some one wants to step up. I would also happily volunteer my time, when able, going forward.
