Asheville has an awesome little BBQ place down in a place that looks like it should be a homeless encampment. For cheap BBQ it was pretty dang good. I'll have to find rocky's the next time I'm up that way.
It's funny, to me, how quickly a place can go from nice to sketchy in only a block or two.Yeah I can’t remember the name but I know where you’re taking about. It’s pretty good. Not as good as the hype IMO but yeah you feel like you might get stabbed in the parking lot.
Funny thing is the artsy district is a block up the road.
Rocky's is awesome but man are they pricey.
Rocky’s Hot Chicken Shack in Asheville.
Their fried chicken and pimento cheese BLT is hands down the best damn chicken sandwich on the planet.
I’m a little disappointed in @Tim for sitting on this gem every time Popeyes has been mentioned.

I didn’t think it was too bad. $9 for the sandwich and a side. $2 for the soda.

Ahem....I’ve kept this to myself so as to avoid the rid-raf.

Not to hijack a chicken sandwich thread but anyone near or coming to Asheville ought to give Gypsy Queen Cuisine a try. Just had some Lebanese street food from their food truck and it was great. https://gypsyqueencuisine.com/#1dca7283-f4b1-4058-9874-04432e4b61b5

There's two of those in the area. One on Patton Ave in Asheville and the other on Sweeten Creek Rd. in Fletcher/Arden.
I drive by either of them almost everyday, but I've never stopped. Both are posted.

Thats it. Their old original store in the River arts district closed for new construction in the area. There are a few other locations around town. BTW- Obama eats there. When he was considering moving there after office his folks all ordered from there. Thank goodness he did not move to Asheville! You must be talking about 12 Bones in the River District.

Yeah actually. The large majority of restaurants from cheap to pricey are not posted. Is it even possible to eat in Asheville based on restaurants being posted?
I'll probably eat it again when it's very convenient.
