May be trading my IWI galil rock and lock 5.56 for this LMT defender 2000. My question is, how old is this LMT rifle? Hard to tell from the photos, can’t really get a good visual on the BCG, but he claims it’s a full LMT. Not questioning him just curious as to y’all’s thoughts? Is it worth the trade? He’s not included the optic but throwing in a WOT trigger. Never owned a LMT before, always been a grail of mine.

Yes it’s a real LMT rifle. Specifically the upper is an LMT MRP LM8, which was released in 2012 but no longer offered in that length. The attachment points were a good idea pre-MLOK but wouldn’t be my choice today. They do make MLOK MRP’s now.

The Lower is an LMT Defender lower, not the more desirable MARS-L lower. The trigger is 100% not LMT, and the anti rotation pins are heavily frowned upon by the owner.
The BCG looks like it has an engraving on the carrier, which is also not common for LMT.

LMT is cool and all, but that's not the MARS-L lower, and IMO if you're going to spend LMT money it needs to include the MARS-L lower (or MARS-H for AR10). Definitely one of those "go all the way or don't go at all" things for me.

Your Galil Ace is cool. If you like it, keep it and rock it.
