I need to replace my Lee auto disc as it can't seem to throw a consistent charge for my 9mm. It moves around by .2 grs. How does the auto drum work? Is it consistent? Any others I should look at for my Lee loadmaster? Thanks

I've had very good luck with my Auto Drum. I bought 2 more of them for other turrets. For some powders (extruded stick) it does a better job than my Dillon measure. I've actually thought about mounting one on my Dillon.

auto drum works fine. just follow directions to break in and to cure leaks

Try one, you will like it. I have two, they work great, super consistent, no leaks for the most part. Occasionally a powder like AA#2 that is super fine will leak a little but not bad at all. If I ever upgrade to a Dillon or some other high end press, the auto drums will be on it.

I had issues getting my auto drum to do both functions correctly, flare and charge, at the same time. I seem to be the only one tho...
It's a very consistent powder measure when it's set up correctly, but it's plastic and pot metal so it's also a bit fragile.

Yes, thin wall brass, like 380, may have problems dropping powder correctly without flaring too much.

According to my scale, it drops a consistent load every time. I have only used it with 9mm though, other calibers , well, your mileage may vary.
I bought it to replace the auto disc, which would not drop a powder load as light as I was needing. And to be honest, at the price they are, if I go to another caliber, I'll probably just buy another.

If you're looking to get rid of your autodisc, LMK. I seem to have good luck with them and the powders I use. And .2 grains is less than 5% variance to most of my loads in 9mm (4.0gr of TG)
